On the 25th of this month, JK Tyres inaugurated a new Truck Steel Center at the premises of Arm Logistic Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The center was launched by Mr. Anuj Khaturia, President of JK Tyres.
I was fortunate to attend the event and even ran into a classmate and childhood friend, Mr. Sunder Krishnan. It was also a pleasure to see Mr. Ramesh Chawla, a senior figure in the industry.
The event's highlight was a fantastic speech by Mr. Ravi Chawla, the owner of Arm Logistic Solutions and a outstanding JK Tyres dealer.

In the blink of an eye, a batsman faces a thundering cricket ball at 145kmph, traversing 22 yards in a mere 0.4 seconds. Similarly, on the road or highway, drivers encounter unexpected obstacles—a cyclist crossing, pedestrians jumping over the dividers to cross the road, animals darting across—demanding lightening-quick reactions. The parallel between the cricket pitch and the road/highway underscores the crucial importance of split-second decisions in both arenas. Conducted on 28th Feb’2024 at BLR LOGISTIKS (I) LTD, the ROSE (Road Occupational & Safety Excellence) training session for Truck Drivers marked a pivotal step towards safer motoring, engaging around thirty seasoned pilots. Grateful for the opportunity to interact with the matured drivers, I am a regular visitor to their Jasai facility, involved in various research, studies, and video shoots to promote safe practices. BLR Group, renowned for innovation and quality service as vendors for leading companies like Dow Chemicals, continues to amass knowledge and wealth. Thanks to the promoters and team at BLR LOGISTIKS (I) LTD for the privilege afforded to Transmitr.in. “My Sankalp Knows No Going Back.”

As we today come to a close, the Road Safety Month (15th Jan to 14th Feb ‘2024), we appeal to all road users to count not every day but every trip on the road as a safety drive. We, at ‘Transmitr Sewa Foundation’, also contributed to spreading awareness. NCRD’s Sterling College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, invited Transmitr Sewa Foundation to steer the session ‘Responsible Motor Vehicle Driving’. This awareness session was amplified with the presence of the team from ‘Turbhe Traffic Police’ and the student audience as well as professors immensely gained from the briefing. We thank Dr. Ravi Verma, principal of the college, as well as Shri. Shrikant Dharane, senior Police Inspector of Navi Mumbai Police, for their valuable insights. All present were in rapt attention, and they appreciated our presentation on the subject mentioned above.

As Road Safety Month draws to a close on February 14th, Transmitr Sewa Foundation reaffirms its dedication to road safety. Let's remember: driving isn't solely about speed but also about maintaining the ability to stop. Just like the renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who didn't hit a boundary with every ball, he left few balls too. In the same way, brake is for ultimate reasons, and not for needless application. Surprises await around every corner, urging us to drive with heightened awareness and caution. Pedestrians, stay vigilant alongside motorists.

Further to our research, which we are conducting with the help of student interns in Transmitr Sewa Foundation observed the following:

As per Book on Road Safety Signage & Signs, formulated by Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, Government of India, The warning for Motorists, when it comes to taking care of School Going Children a particular Traffic Sign as mentioned below has to be followed (Triangular).

This confirms, Part B, ‘Cautionary Signs’ of Schedule 1 to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 which explains ‘School Ahead’ by Image No. C17 of the act. Such Triangular Signs as per Colour Protocol conveys that motorists must be cautious. Also, in the picture to the left about the school zone ought to be (as mentioned above) in Triangular Format. The image we see is a representation of Informatory Signs as per guidelines which is not in order with the act. Probably one may use the term School Zone instead of School Ahead, but the purpose of Cautioning is defeated if not found in a triangle.
Please note that Providing Signages for motorist to be Alert is usually the job of the State Government, you may refer Section 116 of The MV Act 1988.

Transmitr Sewa Foundation turns into modern explorers, highlighting non-compliant road signs. C-32 (Hump or Rough Road) symbols on public roads of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and IRC standards. The picture as below (left) is misleading.
