A Birthday Celebration That Truly Touched the Heart..."
Many of us choose to celebrate our own or our children’s birthdays in old age homes or ashrams — a truly admirable and thoughtful gesture.
For the past few years, we too have been celebrating our son Raj’s birthday by offering lunch at the Ramchandra Kurulkar Residential School for mentally challenged and hearing-impaired tribal children.
We have closely witnessed the incredible work, dedication, and compassion that drives this institution.
The endless chatter in sign language, the way the children lovingly blessed Raj, or the compliments they gave us through their expressive gestures — all of it was not only heartwarming but deeply thought-provoking.
And that’s when a thought struck us —
Instead of only letting these children appreciate ours, why not celebrate them for a change?
And today, we brought that thought to life.
Our fellow members embraced this idea wholeheartedly, and those celebrating their birthdays in July graciously took the lead in organizing it.
Today, we celebrated the birthdays of two beautiful souls — Rubina Shaikh and Viraj Sapre.
Along with them, every child at the ashram was filled with joy.
We have now decided to continue this initiative every month.
Their happiness will forever be our greatest reward.
