आदिवासी लयगाथा - एक हृदयस्पर्शी अनुभव

भारत ते अमेरिकेच्या प्रवासात ‘आदिवासी लयगाथा’ वाचले आणि अनेक प्रकरणे वाचताना डोळे पाणावले. प्रमोद सरांनी लिहिलेले अनुभव इतके जिवंत आहेत की वाचक त्या गावात, त्या क्षणात पोहोचतो.

मी गेली १६ वर्षे अमेरिकेत असलो तरी SNF शी सुरुवातीपासून जोडलेला आहे. काही गावांना प्रत्यक्ष भेटी दिल्यामुळे या पुस्तकातील वास्तव माझ्यासाठी अधिक जवळचे वाटले.

पुस्तकाची खरी ताकद त्याच्या साध्या पण खोल अनुभवांमध्ये आहे - विहिरीसाठी स्वतःची जमीन देणारे बाबा, डोंगरवाटेवर गाडीचे टायर दुरुस्त करण्याची मदत, छोट्याशा हॉटेलमधले रात्रीचे जेवण व पाहुनचार, अनेक अडचणींवर मात करून मोठी स्वप्ने पाहणाऱ्या लहान मुली. कुपोषित बालकांचे प्रसंग तर सर्वात जास्त मनाला भिडणारे आहेत.

हे पुस्तक वाचताना SNF चे काम अधिक स्पष्टपणे समजले - पाण्याचे प्रकल्प, पोषण आहार, गावोगावातील ग्रंथालये यामागची खरी प्रेरणा काय होती ते उलगडले. प्रमोद सर म्हणतात तसे, प्रत्येक गावाने त्यांना काहीतरी परत दिले - आणि हा अनुभव मलाही नेहमी आला आहे. SNF सोबत केलेले प्रत्येक काम हे केवळ काम न राहता एक वेगळेच समाधान देऊन जाते.

SNF समजून घेऊ इच्छिणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाने हे पुस्तक जरूर वाचावे. ही केवळ माहिती नाही, तर माणुसकीशी जोडणारी आणि खरा आनंद देणारी यात्रा आहे.

A proud milestone for Ahilyanagar!

The 1st SNF Library in Ahilyanagar district and the 37th SNF Library overall was inaugurated yesterday at Induri, in the gracious presence of Sayaji Shinde, Ranganath Pathare Sir, Padma Shri Rahibai Popere, Jivan Sonawane, and Rahul Daga.

This milestone was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Ravi and Vijaya Thombade, whose commitment turned this vision into reality. Special thanks to the Gram Panchayat for providing a well-equipped space for the library.

We also extend our gratitude to Argano India, Hyderabad, for their generous support in making this initiative possible.

Together, we continue to strengthen reading culture and empower communities through knowledge.

Inauguration of the Induri (Akole), Ahilyanagar District Library

Social Networking Forum (SNF), which currently runs 36 community libraries in remote tribal villages of Nashik district, is pleased to inaugurate its first library in Ahilyanagar district.

This library has been made possible through the generous support of Mr. Madhu Seri of Argano India, Hyderabad, facilitated by Mr. Yogesh Kasat, an entrepreneur based in the USA and a long-time supporter of SNF's initiatives. The Gram Panchayat, Induri, also extended excellent support by providing a well-equipped building for the library.

People Who Keep Memories Alive… Are the True Legacy!

Today marks the 64th birth anniversary of SNF’s late member, Smt. Vijayatai Jeevan Sonawane.

When Tai was with us, every year on the morning of 6th July, a cheque worth thousands of rupees equal to her age would reach the SNF office as her birthday contribution.

Two years ago, Tai left us. But today, on 6th July, once again, a message appeared on the mobile screen — ₹64,000 deposited into SNF’s account. For a moment, it felt as if Tai was still with us.

Sadly, that was not true. But though Tai is no longer among us, Jeevan Dada has kept her beautiful tradition alive.

And what a meaningful coincidence today brought…

In memory of Tai, Jeevan Dada’s generous contribution helped establish the library movement at Jategaon. Today, that very movement has produced a proud and inspiring result. In the past few days, eight students from this library have been selected for various government services. Today, on Tai’s birth anniversary, these successful students and their parents were felicitated.

Today, we deeply felt that people may leave this world, but when their values and noble traditions are kept alive, they can continue to shape a better society.

Thank you, Jeevan Dada.

Could there be a greater and more meaningful tribute to Tai than this?

A proud and inspiring moment for Jategaon, Gram Panchayat Jategaon, and Social Networking Forum!
We are delighted to share that 8 students from the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar SNF Library, Jategaon, Tal. Trimbak, have been selected for various government services.
This achievement is a true tribute to our late member Late Vijayatai Jeevan Sonawane, in whose memory this library was started. Her memory continues to inspire meaningful change through education and opportunity.
The success of these students beautifully reflects the vision behind SNF’s “Library in Every Village” movement. It is deeply satisfying to see rural youth achieving their dreams through access to books, guidance, discipline, and a positive study environment.
We sincerely thank all our colleagues, villagers, parents, well-wishers, and supporters who have stood firmly behind this movement. 🙏🏻

🌍 १७ जून २०२६ रोजी सिंगापूर इंटरनॅशनल वॉटर वीक (SIWW) 2026 या जगातील प्रतिष्ठित जल परिषदेत महाराष्ट्रातील दुर्गम आदिवासी भागांमध्ये विकसित केलेल्या SNF च्या शाश्वत जलमॉडेलची मांडणी करता आली हा एसएनएफच्या वाटचालीतील अतिशय गौरवाचा क्षण होता. नाशिकच्या आदिवासी भागातील जलमॉडेलची जागतिक व्यासपीठावर दखल जाणे ही आमच्यासाठी अत्यंत अभिमानाची बाब आहे.
"Water as a Catalyst: A Nexus-Based Model for Empowerment of Tribal Communities in Rural India" या विषयावर सादरीकरण करताना, पाणी हे केवळ नैसर्गिक साधन नसून शिक्षण, आरोग्य, रोजगार, पर्यावरण संवर्धन आणि सामाजिक सक्षमीकरणाचे प्रभावी माध्यम कसे ठरते, हे जगासमोर मांडता आले.
या सत्रात इंग्लंड, अमेरिका, ऑस्ट्रेलिया आणि स्पेन येथील आंतरराष्ट्रीय तज्ज्ञांनीही आपल्या देशांतील जलव्यवस्थापन आणि हितधारक सहभागावरील अनुभव मांडले. विकसित देशांतील शहरी जलव्यवस्थापनाच्या उदाहरणांसोबतच भारतातील दुर्गम आदिवासी भागांतील पाणीटंचाईची वास्तव परिस्थिती आणि त्यावरील समुदायाधारित उपाय मांडता आले.
२०१४ पासून SNF ने महाराष्ट्रातील दुर्गम आदिवासी भागांमध्ये लोकसहभाग, स्थानिक स्वामित्व, वैज्ञानिक नियोजन आणि शाश्वत व्यवस्थापन यांवर आधारित जलमॉडेल विकसित केले. आजपर्यंत ३६ गावांना वर्षभर पाणी-सुरक्षित बनविण्यात यश मिळाले असून ७०,००० हून अधिक नागरिकांना थेट लाभ झाला आहे.
विशेष आनंदाची बाब म्हणजे विविध देशांतील प्रतिनिधी, जलतज्ज्ञ, संशोधक आणि धोरणकर्त्यांनी या मॉडेलमध्ये विशेष रस दाखवला. सत्रानंतर अनेक प्रतिनिधींनी संवाद साधून या मॉडेलची अधिक माहिती घेतली आणि त्यांच्या देशांमध्ये अशा उपक्रमांची अंमलबजावणी करण्याबाबत चर्चा केली.
ही संधी SNF च्या कार्याला मिळालेली एक महत्त्वपूर्ण आंतरराष्ट्रीय मान्यता आहे.
या प्रवासात साथ देणाऱ्या सर्व सहकाऱ्यांचे, ग्रामस्थांचे, देणगीदारांचे आणि हितचिंतकांचे मनःपूर्वक आभार. 🙏
