Respected Sir Dr. N.M. Cintury, Director, Coordinator Namchi district along with Maam Dr. Latta Rai, Addl. Director cm head of district: Namchi, accompanied by Farm Incharge and VO conducted a routine field visit of Piggery Breeding farm, Mellidara and Mellidara Vety Hospital.
A brief status on the day to day working of the farm and VH along with the current stock position was delivered.
Followed by inspection of the animal and animal shed.
Sir took note of the problems the farm and the hospital had been facing, especially the problem of water scarcity.
Sir and maam both addressed the problems and gave us their valuable inputs regarding various issues.
The farm management is grateful towards Sir and maam for their support and we shall be making further improvements on many issues addressed today.

Awareness drive on Avian Influenza was carried out at Yangang by the team of Yangang SDVH via PA system to educate the community about the disease, its transmission and preventive measures to ensure maximum outreach among residents.

Awareness drive on bird flu via PA system at Melli bazar along with local Bazar authorities and Police dept on simple do's and don'ts regarding Bird flu and advice on precautionary measures.

Inspection of meat shops and checking of poultry carcass was also conducted along with sensitisation of meat vendors on hygienic practices.

A case of bird mortality in a broiler farm was reported yesterday evening at Lower Sripatam, Yangang. Upon receiving the information, the staff of SDVH Yangang immediately visited the location and carried out disinfection of the farm premises and surrounding areas as a precautionary measure.
Samples have been collected for further investigation.
