On this auspicious occasion of Si Donyi festival our warm greetings goes to the various communities of India particularly of Arunachal Pradesh and our Tagin brothers and sisters.
We hope that, with this everlasting unique identity we shall stand together in times of joy, sad and in need.
A brief description of Si - Donyi —
Is a festival of Tagin Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, India, direct descendant of Abu Tani (believed to be the common ancestor of - Nyishi, Apatani, Galo, Adi, Mishmi, Hill Miris) located at Daporijo, Lower Subansiri. It is celebrated from 4th to 7th January of every year to pay tribute to Earth (Si) and Sun (Donyi) regarded as Mother and God. The tribals here attire themselves mostly in red and white colour in accordance to their respective gender. It is also a mean to intermingle with one another by show of cultures like dance, a show of strength by the means of sports followed by sacrifice of mithuns alongwith Hen/Cock led by a priest (Nyibu).
Thank You!
