promote the setting up of Social Welfare Organizations on a Voluntary basis in places where no such organizations exist and to promote additional organizations wherever necessary;
promote Social Welfare Activities intended for the general welfare of the public such as welfare of the family, women, children and the handicapped and assistance in cases of unemployment, under employment, old age, sickness, disablement and other cases of undeserved want;
organize or promote programmes of Training in Social Work as and when required and also to organize and work pilot projects whenever necessary;
organize through its machinery emergency relief in cases of calamity, National, natural or
otherwise, wherever deemed fit or necessary.
organize, sponsor and fund research activities, projects, workshops, programs, seminars, conferences, executive development programs, faculty improvement programs, political surveys, general public surveys, research studies in the field of education, to institute and award studentships, fellowships, free ships, scholarships, prizes, medals and stipends to students and faculties who achieved the merit in their respective field to encourage them for higher and better education and to institute and award visitor ships and to provide monetary aid to students, scholars, and teachers for pursuing their education.
