A Proud Moment for CNI: Global Leadership Recognised
It is indeed a moment of great joy and pride for the family of the Church of North India. One of our esteemed presbyters, the Revd. Dr. Samuel Mall has been elected as the President of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), headquartered in Geneva. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Mall on this significant achievement. This is truly a time of celebration for the entire CNI community.
The Revd. Dr. Samuel Mall is an ordained presbyter of the Diocese of Chandigarh, Church of North India. He completed his Bachelor of Divinity from the United Theological College, Bangalore, and served his diocese faithfully as a full-time minister. With a deep commitment to theological scholarship, he pursued his Master of Theology in Christian Theology from the North India Institute of Post Graduate Theological Studies, Kolkata, and later earned his Doctor of Theology from United Theological College, Bangalore.
From 2013 to 2019, he served at the CNI Synod Programme Office in Nagpur as Programme Coordinator for Training, Development, and Empowerment, making significant contributions to leadership formation and ministry development across the Church of North India. Since 2023, he has been serving as Assistant Professor at Bishop's College, Kolkata.
The World Student Christian Federation, founded in 1895 by John R. Mott, is one of the oldest international student Christian movements. It brings together students from diverse Christian traditions - Protestant, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Roman Catholic, and Anglican - united in their commitment to justice, peace, and the empowerment of young people. With a presence in over 90 countries and connections to millions of students worldwide, WSCF continues to play a vital role in global ecumenical engagement.
We thank God for this remarkable achievement and pray that God will continue to guide and strengthen Dr. Mall in his new responsibility, enabling him to be a blessing to the global Church.
