We are delighted to share the successful completion of a 16-days Android Phone Operations Workshop for Persons with Visual Impairment, conducted by Atmadeepam Society Nagpur - Amravati Centre in collaboration with the National Association for Welfare of the Physically Handicapped (NAWPH), Amravati & with the generous support of ECGC Ltd.
Held from 16th July to 31st July 2026, the workshop empowered 17 participants with practical digital skills to use Android smartphones independently through TalkBack.
Throughout the programme, participants learned essential smartphone skills, including TalkBack gestures, Android navigation, phone calls, contact management, accessible typing, SMS, Wi-Fi and mobile data, accessibility settings, Google Gemini, installing applications from the Play Store, Bookshare, Dolphin EasyReader, File Manager, digital payments through Google Pay, PhonePe, BHIM UPI and Net Banking, as well as using IRCTC for independent railway ticket booking.
By the end of the workshop, participants demonstrated greater confidence in communicating, accessing information, reading accessible books, managing files, using AI tools, performing secure digital transactions, and accessing online services independently.
