The organisation was founded by Late Col Sunil Deshpande on 9th January 1994 with the aim of spreading soldierly qualities in the society namely discipline, courage, vigilance, values of life and patriotism. Since then Prahar has been carrying out various activities in order to achieve its aim of militarizing the mindset of the society.
