With every sectoral convenor meeting, the journey towards Advantage Vidarbha 2026 is gaining sharper focus and stronger momentum.

The Association for Industrial Development (AID) hosted the Pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, Chemical & Medical Devices Manufacturing Sector Convenor and Members Meeting, bringing together experts, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to chart a roadmap for Vidarbha’s role in India’s healthcare future.

Key discussions revolved around:

📌 Creating a comprehensive industry database and mapping ecosystem to enable collaboration between manufacturers, raw material providers, and allied industries.
📌 Positioning Vidarbha as a trusted pharmaceutical hub with advanced manufacturing, research, and export capabilities. Leveraging Vidarbha’s strategic central location to establish it as a competitive hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution.
📌 Tapping into Vidarbha’s strong base of pharma education and transforming it into employable, skilled manpower.
📌 Utilizing existing company pilot projects and small manufacturing units as practical training grounds for capsule & tablet formulation and machinery operations
📌 Advantage Vidarbha -2026 will highlight Vidarbha’s pharmaceutical and Ayurvedic potential on a national and global stage, positioning the region as an emerging healthcare hub.

The dialogue underlined one vision: Vidarbha as a rising centre of innovation, wellness, and investment in healthcare.

Every convenor meeting is shaping not only the future of sectors but also the integrated growth story of Vidarbha on the global stage.

The Association for Industrial Development (AID) has reiterated its commitment to Vidarbha’s progress by seeking Hon’ble CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis’s intervention to expedite the transfer of Nagpur International Airport operations to GMR Airports Ltd.

A delegation led by AID President Shri Ashish Kale and Treasurer Prof. Rajesh Bagdi submitted a representation to the Hon’ble CM, underlining that seamless air connectivity is vital to accelerate industrial growth, attract investment, and generate large-scale employment in the region.

For over two years, AID has consistently pursued this matter with the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, ensuring that the concerns of Vidarbha remain at the forefront of policy discussions. The association emphasised that once the transfer is completed, Nagpur will gain new domestic routes and direct international connectivity, particularly with Southeast Asia, significantly enhancing trade, tourism, and competitiveness.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister has assured complete support and initiated action on AID’s representation.

With this initiative, AID continues its close collaboration with the Government towards building Vidarbha into a world-class industrial and economic region.

CM Devendra Fadnavis has launched the MIDC Industrial Land Application and Allotment Portal (MILAAP) to make land allocation in Maharashtra more transparent and efficient.

✔ View available industrial, commercial and residential plots
✔ Apply online with a simple process
✔ Make payments digitally and get faster approvals

The portal gives priority to mega and ultra projects, MoUs under Magnetic Maharashtra and Davos, government-level MoUs, and public sector undertakings.

For Vidarbha, this means smoother access to MIDC plots, enabling industries to expand and invest with greater ease in the region.

The recently announced GST reform is a landmark step for India’s industrial sector.

🔹 Rate reductions across key sectors are expected to boost demand, especially during the festive season immediately.
🔹 Simplified compliance measures and the correction of inverted duty structures will provide much-needed relief to MSMEs, reducing operational pressures and strengthening industry confidence.

For Vidarbha, these reforms hold special significance.

1. The textile industry, a core strength of the region, will now be able to compete more effectively in both national and international markets.
2. Reduced taxation will encourage investments and create opportunities for local industries to expand.

From Vision to Action — Together for Vidarbha

At Advantage Vidarbha 2025, Maharashtra’s IT Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar had announced that the rollout of the Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy will be undertaken soon through a dedicated task force.

The Association for Industrial Development (AID) has urged that the policy framework should extend beyond Tier-1 cities and actively include Tier-2 cities such as Nagpur.

The GCC Policy has the potential to:
• Generate large-scale employment for the youth
• Strengthen MIHAN-SEZ and the IT ecosystem
• Enable balanced regional growth across Maharashtra

AID’s recommendations for the GCC Policy include:
• Fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for industry
• Integration of MIHAN-SEZ with national IT/BPO schemes
• A dedicated Vidarbha GCC/BPO Incentive Scheme

AID remains committed to working with the Government of Maharashtra to ensure that Vidarbha’s potential is realised and its role in India’s IT growth story is secured.

🚨 Nagpur Emerges as a Strategic Node in India’s Defence Ecosystem

Reliance Defence, in collaboration with Coastal Mechanics Inc. (USA), is establishing India’s first privately-managed Military MRO Hub at MIHAN, Nagpur — a ₹20,000 Cr investment spread over the next decade.

🛩️ The facility will service and upgrade:

Jaguars

MiG‑29s

Apache helicopters

L-70 air defence guns

What makes this significant?

These platforms remain operational across India, as well as in Southeast Asia and Africa — positioning Nagpur as a potential export hub for legacy military system upgrades and maintenance.
