Ummeed is an initiative by IIM Nagpur which aims at spreading awareness about various social causes, sensitizing the minds of today’s youth and developing a sense of social responsibility among them. Some journeys aren’t defined by where they begin, but by the courage to keep moving forward.

Apurva Waghmare’s story begins in a humble home in Nagpur, shaped by resilience, discipline, and quiet sacrifice. Raised by central government–serving parents and supported by a loving elder sister, she grew up grounded in strong values and unwavering belief.

From a B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunications to an M.Tech in Computer Science, her academic path reflected curiosity and courage. An internship at GE Healthcare sparked her interest in software and leadership, leading to impactful roles at OYO Rooms, Mom’s Belief, and CARS24, where she grew into a Territory Manager.

Never one to settle, Apurva took another bold step into the MBA program at IIM Nagpur, where she now serves as Class Representative of Section C — known for her sincerity, empathy, and dependability.

Alongside this journey is a love built on trust — a decade-long relationship and five years of marriage, strengthened by the constant support of her husband, a Regional Director at the Times of India Group.

Her journey is a reminder that success doesn’t always arrive loudly — sometimes it grows quietly, rooted in gratitude, resilience, and love.
