MIA Team Meets Chief Commissioner CGST on GST Issues Affecting Industries

A delegation of MIDC Industries Association (MIA) comprising Ganesh Jaiswal, K. K. Daga, Ajay Agrawal, Arun Lanjewar, Rakesh Gupta, and Jyotindra Patel met Shri Sandeep Puri, IAS, Chief Commissioner, CGST, Central Excise & Customs, along with senior officials to highlight critical GST challenges faced by industries.

The team raised concerns on ITC blockages, refund delays, compliance burden on MSMEs, ambiguity on ITC for job work & capital goods, inverted duty structures, and higher GST on rentals & infrastructure services. Issues of GST tribunal non-constitution, unclear refund procedures, and hardships due to supplier non-compliance were also discussed.

👉 MIA President, P. Mohan submitted a detailed representation and urged for ease of doing business measures such as simplified compliance, faster refunds, and rationalization of GST rates.

✨ Anti-Corruption Awareness and Outreach Program at MIA ✨

The MIDC Industries Association (MIA) organized an Anti-Corruption Awareness and Outreach Program at MIA House, Hingna, Nagpur.

The session was graced by Shri Rishikesh Sonawane, IPS, Superintendent of Police & Incharge – CBI and ACB, Nagpur, as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.

🔹 Shri P. Mohan, President – MIA, emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in industries, stating:

“This interaction will strengthen industries’ confidence in fair practices and support the creation of a corruption-free ecosystem for businesses and society.”

The initiative aimed to:
• Educate industrialists and citizens on preventive measures for smooth functioning of industries.
• Provide guidance on effectively reporting grievances related to Central Government departments.

In his address, Shri Sonawane highlighted key provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended 2018) and stressed the crucial role of CBI in curbing corruption in Central Government departments, PSUs, and banks. He urged stakeholders to remain vigilant and proactive in building a corruption-free business ecosystem.

Fire Safety & Insurance Awareness Program at MIA

MIDC Industries Association (MIA), in association with Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), COSIA, and VPIA, recently organized an Awareness Program on Fire Safety & Insurance.

Mr. Anand Parab, Divisional Fire Officer, MIDC, shared key insights on fire prevention and emergency response, followed by Mr. Yagnesh Dooshi of Equirus Raghnall, who simplified fire insurance processes. Mr. Vivek Deshpande of Spacewood shared a real-life experience of handling a factory fire.

On the auspicious occasion of Varshapratipada on March 30, 2025, it was an honor to witness Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for the new building of Madhav Netralaya at Vasudev Nagar, Nagpur. The event marked a significant step toward enhancing healthcare services in the region, particularly in the field of ophthalmology.

Attending the ceremony alongside the esteemed Team Members of MIDC Industries Association (MIA) was a privilege. The presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways of India, further highlighted the importance of this project. Their support and commitment to the region’s development were truly inspiring.

The new facility at Madhav Netralaya is expected to offer state-of-the-art eye care services, benefiting countless individuals by providing access to advanced treatments and quality healthcare. Witnessing such a landmark moment with the top leadership of the nation was both inspiring and memorable, reinforcing the collective effort toward building a healthier and stronger society.
