Ever since its inception the Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal has undertaken path breaking innovative steps. When yog was the preserve of the few blessed, practiced individually, the founder Shri Janardan Swami took it to the masses, moving from place to place getting people interested, going to their homes to teach, more importantly teaching everyone without any discrimination. He for the first time got women to practice yog realizing the important role they play. He also introduced the 'sanghik' or collective yog. All this continues to this day exactly as devised by Swamiji himself and more importantly completely free of cost. Inspired by his teachings the Mandal runs all its activities free of cost for everyone. It is a rare example of complete selflessness. The mandal does not have a single paid employee all the work is done by the members themselves with complete dedication. Today the Mandal has grown to over 130 branches across Vidarbha carrying out its various programmes in service of humanity with the same selfless zeal, inspired by its founder.
