About the organization-
Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh Vidarbha, Nagpur is a Non-profit making, Social development organization established in the year 1981. The aim of the organization is to bring the weaker sections of the society into the mainstream of Nation’s development. These include, Tribal, women, children, youth, old age people. Some of the major activities of the organization are de-ad
diction, HIV AIDS prevention and awareness program, old age home, creche program etc. Bharatiya Adim Jati Sewak Sangh Vidarbha, Nagpur is a social organization working towards betterment of children, youth as well as elderly people via various development programs. “Antyodaya” (rise of the last person) is the main aim of the organization and it reaches those on the fringes and margins of the society, bringing them in the mainstream of country’s development. Under elderly beneficiary program, Matoshri old age home, Adasa, taluka Kalmeshwar district, Nagpur recognized by Maharashtra government is zealously providing its service for the past 25 years since its establishment in the year 1997. Matoshri old age home is situated at the foothill of the renowned Ganesh temple of Adasa. It has 5 acres land for accommodation of 100 elderly people and also designated land for livestock and vegetable farming/horticulture activities. Here best care is provided to the elderly. Healthy and timely nutritious Meals, stay in pollution free environment, Medicines, etc. facilities are provided. Government does not provide any grants for this project. All the expenses are met from the donations. Food, stay, operation and maintenance of the buildings, electricity, water tax, medicines require expenses regularly. The elderly requires mental assurance and emotional support in their declining stage of life. It is our responsibility as social workers and as responsible members of the society to provide this support. Providing all the facilities and care to the elderly who have lost all the support from their dear ones, in the last stage of their life, is a huge challenge in front of the organization. This worthwhile activity is operating only on the basis of the support of the donors and in true sense the valuable contributions by the donors makes the smooth functioning of Matoshri Old Age home possible.
