📚✨ Nagpur Book Club March 2026 Meet – A Grand Success at Nagpur Kala Sangh, VR Mall ✨📚
Nagpur Book Club’s March 2026 Book Meet turned out to be one of our biggest and most memorable gatherings so far.
This time, the meet was organised under the aegis of Nagpur Kala Sangh, the annual Art & Literature Festival hosted by VR Nagpur and the session was held at a beautiful venue inside the mall, attracting not only registered participants but also many curious visitors who happily joined the celebration of books.
We received around 108 registrations, and more than 80 bibliophiles attended, making it one of the largest meets in the history of the Nagpur Book Club. The lively atmosphere, thoughtful discussions, and enthusiastic participation made the evening truly special.
The meet began with Rohit Tokhi welcoming all book lovers to the session. He briefly explained the working of the Nagpur Book Club and emphasised that it is a completely free book club where everyone is welcome, and anyone who loves books can join the discussions without any membership fee or formalities.
The meet then began with a brilliant review by Anil Saxena, retired Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF Maharashtra, who spoke about
Nehru & Bose: Parallel Lives by Rudrangshu Mukherjee.
The book explores the complex relationship between Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Chandra Bose, two of India’s most admired leaders, whose friendship, rivalry, and ideological differences shaped an important chapter of the freedom movement.
Mr. Saxena explained how the book presents both leaders as strong personalities with different visions for India, and how their parallel journeys reveal the human side of history.
New member Shruti Moglewar presented a heartfelt review of Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.
She described the novel as an emotional and deeply personal story about youth, love, loneliness, and memory.
Set in 1960s Tokyo, the book follows a young man navigating relationships, loss, and the confusion of growing up. Shruti shared how reading the book felt like an emotional journey, where the quiet moments of the story leave a lasting impact on the reader.
Ashok Rathi delivered a captivating and thoughtful analysis of Point Counter Point by Aldous Huxley.
He explained that the novel is unusual because it does not focus on one hero, but instead presents many characters, each representing different ideas about life, art, science, morality, and society.
Though the book is long and intellectually demanding, Mr. Rathi said that the effort is rewarding, as the novel offers deep satisfaction to readers who enjoy philosophical and thought-provoking literature.
Lata Tokhi stole the show with her beautiful and engaging review of Middlemarch by George Eliot.
She described the novel as a powerful exploration of ordinary people, their ambitions, their mistakes, and their relationships. Set in a small English town, the book shows how everyday lives are filled with deep emotions, moral choices, and quiet heroism.
Lata pointed out that Middlemarch is widely regarded as one of the greatest works of English literature because of the way it celebrates human life in all its complexity.
She also left the audience with a few thought-provoking questions about relationships and human expectations, which sparked a lively discussion among the attendees even after the meet had officially ended; a true sign of a great book and a great review.
Nagpur Book Club proudly continues to support and promote local writers, and two talented authors introduced their books at the meet.
Priya Srivastava presented her newly published book Feminine Mirror: Stories of 30 Women at 30, an inspiring collection that explores the journeys, struggles, and triumphs of thirty women at a defining age in life.
Sonal Yadav introduced her mythological science-fiction novel The Kalpavigrah, a fascinating story about the discovery of a mysterious metal idol believed to be 28,000 years old, blending mythology, history, and science fiction.
The book meet was conducted by Rohit Tokhi, who introduced the reviewers and authors, and spoke about the vision of the Nagpur Book Club.
He said that the club is proud to be Nagpur’s best free platform for bibliophiles, where readers from all backgrounds can come together to discuss books, ideas, and literature.
One of the highlights of the meet was the Free Book Giveaway, where members donated more than 50 books for fellow readers.
Book lovers eagerly picked the titles they liked, and the giveaway table was empty in no time, proving once again that nothing excites readers more than free books.
Refreshments were served after the meet, generously sponsored by VR Mall.
Nagpur Book Club would like to thank all the book lovers who attended the session and made it such a success.
We also extend a special thank you to Mr. Avinash from VR Mall for his warm support and for arranging such a beautiful venue for the Literature Meet.
