September, observed in Rotary as **Basic Education and Literacy Month**, gives us a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the teachers within our Rotary family.

On the occasion of **National Teachers’ Day** and **International Literacy Day**, Rotary Club of Cochin Queen City proudly presents **GURUVANDANAM** — an initiative to honour Rotarians who have dedicated themselves to the noble profession of teaching.

Teachers do much more than impart knowledge. They **inspire minds, shape character, nurture values and influence generations**. Through GURUVANDANAM, we express our gratitude and appreciation to every teacher in Rotary who has contributed towards building a brighter and better society.

Two Homes and a Million dreams

221st, 222nd House Challenge – Aroor

Some homes are built with bricks and cement; some are built with compassion, hope and the kindness of many hearts.

The 221st and 222nd house of the House Challenge at Aroor is one such beautiful story—a moment when a homeless family’s long-held dream finally found a roof, a doorway and a place to call home.

With immense gratitude to the Rotary Club of Cochin Global, whose generous support helped turn this dream into reality. The handing over of the key by Rtn. Benny PJ was not merely a ceremony—it was the passing of a new beginning into the hands of a family that had waited with hope.

Standing together in this unforgettable moment were Sister Lissy Chakkalakkal, Founder of the House of Challenge and Mr. Babu, former Minister for Fisheries and Ports, along with friends and well-wishers who shared in the family's happiness.

A key can open a door, but compassion opens a heart.
And today, in Aroor, one family did not just receive a house—they received dignity, security and the beautiful promise of tomorrow.
