Over 25 years, our artists have been mentored by curator, artist & educator - Yoshiko Wada in the 'finer and untold' aspects of Shibori. Natural, we have sustainably crafted textile for over 25 years through recycling, up-cycling & dye our fabric with dyes extracted from natural sources. Our textile is further embellished with Shibori, Tie & Dye, Batik, botanical & fresh leaf printing &
more. Sarees, Stoles, Dupattas, Scarves are created using cotton, silk, linen & organza. Pashmina shawls & fabric by the meter are an International favourite. Cushion covers, table linen, table covers are home decor textile carefully designed by in-house designers & Interns from NID through the year. We extract dyes from eucalyptus, Nilgiri Kozha (eupatorium), tea waste, pinecones and other leaves, petals and roots harvested from the forest floor minutes away from our workshop. We source Indigo from South India, apart from growing our own seasonal crop Japanese Indigo. Lac from Jangir Champa and Myrobalan an extract of a yellow flowering tree sourced from traditional medicine shops. Over the 25 years, Aranya Natural has travelled the world with our specially-abled artists. Muthupechi has been to France to conduct a workshop at a Textile Group conference, Poongani attended a workshop in Minneapolis, JayLakshmi & Muthukumari learnt shibori & held exhibitions in Japan. We have attended conferences in Taiwan, Malaysia and held exhibitions in the Unites States of America, London & across India. Artist, curator & educator - Yoshiko Wada, our mentor for 2 decades now, has taken workshops at Aranya Natural Studio every year and we've learnt and adopted the 'finer and untold' aspects of Shibori from her. Together we have curated some "Signature Aranya Natural Styles' which are unique to our artists, one having been named after one of our creative artists - "Arul Shibori"
