Not everything important can be taught from a textbook.
When kids see colour change in their hands, pull DNA out of a banana, or watch invisible ink come alive — something clicks. Curiosity wakes up.
But access to this kind of learning is not equal.
For many first-generation learners from communities like Mumbra and Mandala, hands-on science is still a rarity.
That gap is exactly what we’re trying to address.
At Parcham, we’re creating small spaces where kids don’t just memorise science, they experience it.

Big thanks to The Bio Brigade for partnering with us on this 🧪

Shehwar , Saiyada , and Anamika sat with the group to unpack what caste really looks like around us not just in theory, but in everyday life. We spoke about caste in both Hindu and Muslim contexts, the historical disadvantages certain communities have faced, and even the casual slurs we use without thinking about the harm they carry.
We also went through various real-life cases happening around us, making the conversation more real and difficult to ignore.

There were a lot of questions, and honestly, that was the point. As we prepare for our visit to Ambedkar Bhavan on 14th April, we’re not going with fixed answers but with curiosity, discomfort, and a willingness to learn.

Mr. Zia took a session with 15 of our youth and honestly, it didn’t feel like a “session.”

No heavy English lectures. No “repeat after me” drills. Just real conversations, matching the vibe with this Gen Z crowd.

There was hesitation at first… but slowly, people started opening up.
Because the real barrier isn’t just English, it’s confidence.

And that’s what this was really about: creating a space where speaking felt normal, not intimidating.

No pressure to be perfect. Just speak. Make mistakes. Try again.

Looking forward to building more of this, not just for youth, but across different spaces. :)

Colours don’t fight. They blend.

For a while, the world felt a little simpler, like it does when you’re a child and festivals are just about colours, laughter, and running around without worrying about who celebrates what.

Young volunteers moved around preparing for Iftaar, completely covered in Holi colours, carrying plates of dates and food, looking like walking rainbows. It was chaotic, joyful, and somehow very poetic. Colours are fun, but only when they come with consent.

As the colours of Holi met the quiet reflection of Ramadan, the evening reminded us of something simple: sometimes the best way to celebrate difference is to not overthink it just sit together, play with colours, and share a meal.

That was Rang-e-Iftaar. 🌈✨

You’re Invited to Rang-e-Iftaar by Parcham 🌙🌸✨

Colours don’t fight. They blend, and in blending, they create something more beautiful. 🌈

As Holi welcomes spring and Ramzaan calls for empathy and reflection, we invite you to join us for Rang-e-Iftaar.

At a time when differences are often turned into divisions, we choose to celebrate together. With colour. With laughter. With food shared at one table.

Join us as we celebrate the diversity of our country,
drench each other in colours, and break the fast side by side.

Exams are here, and honestly… boards can get overwhelming. The syllabus feels never-ending, the pressure builds up, and sometimes you just need someone to sit with you and clear things out properly.

If you’re from the Mankhurd community, you can drop in for doubt-solving sessions with Neha at the Parcham office from 1 PM to 5 PM. Bring your questions, your rough notes, your “I don’t get this at all” moments, that’s exactly what this is for.

Parcham ki Adolescent Team Rani Baug gaye the, aur honestly unki excitement dekh ke hi trip successful lag raha tha, Exams bilkul paas hain, toh sab thode pressure mein the. Yeh chhota sa break unke liye perfect tha. 🌿

Wahan sab ne ek saath time spend kiya, interact kiya, aur routine se bahar nikle. Simple cheezein, par kaafi zaroori chiz.

Sabse reassuring baat parents ka feedback tha. Unhone bataya ki bachche wapas aakar zyada settled lag rahe the. Kam chidh-chidh, relaxed thhe.

Relationships between parents and children are often complicated, especially during the teenage years. Many parents have forgotten the confusion and angst of adolescence. In the absence of open communication, parenting sometimes gets reduced to paying school fees, providing food and clothing, and expecting children to simply study and succeed.

Many parents we work with were married young and found themselves responsible for raising children even before they turned twenty. With responsibilities arriving so early, romantic love or even its expression is rarely a consideration.

Most of the women we work with have never been to a movie alone with their husbands. Those who have often went with relatives accompanying them. Vacations, too, are family affairs. Homes are small, offering little privacy. How then does one nurture intimacy within a relationship? And how do parents nurture discipline and responsibility in their children when other family members step in to protect the child from being corrected or disciplined?

This Valentine’s Day, Parcham created space for these reflections by taking parents out and facilitating conversations on relationships between partners, and between parents and children.

The evening ended with the symbolic gesture of couples offering roses to one another. A simple act which moved some women to tears.

The celebration has given us much food for thought and many ideas for future programmes that can strengthen communication within families and, in turn, support the mental well-being of everyone at home.

PS. We managed to get some lovely photos of couples together which we plan to frame and gift to them 😁

Digital Literacy & Personal Development : Summer Batch 2026 | Mumbra

The first batch of 2026 has officially begun.
This summer, 15 girls from the Mumbra community have stepped in, not just to learn “basic computer skills” (because honestly, basic doesn’t cut it anymore).
This batch is about real digital exposure, practical understanding, and personal development that prepares them for the world as it actually is.

This Republic Day, we just sat together at CED and talked.
About the Constitution, the Preamble, what it actually means in our lives.
We designed our own T-shirts, printed what we believe in, and wore it with a lot of feeling.

Day 1.

Parcham core team sat together, not to perform productivity, but to actually think.
We talked through 2025 honestly: the good days, the tiring ones, the things we’re proud of and the things we wish we’d done better.

There were scribbles, pauses, disagreements, laughter, and a lot of listening. Slowly, 2026 started taking shape, not as a grand plan, but as shared intent.

No rush. No pretending.
Just people who care, figuring things out together.

Two days. 9 teams from across 5 states.
Countless moments of courage, friendship, grit, and fierce play. ⚽💚

So proud of every single girl who showed up, took space on the field, and gave it everything she had. This is what sport looks like when it’s about confidence, community, and showing up for each other.

A huge shout out to
