The organization Safai Kamgar Parivartan Sangh (Sweepers Association for Change) came into existence in 1972 and was founded by Mr. Ramesh Haralkar, who himself was a sweeper in BMC for 10 years and was later promoted as a painter in BMC. Now Safai Kamgar Parivartan Sangh is working for the Safai Kamgar whose generations have been absorbed by these caste-ridden shackles. The organization is workin

g immensely for providing the consciousness to the children of the Safai Kamgar about the various fields and opportunities and the importance of education in their life. This has been incorporated in our outreach to the children through our programme ‘Eklavya Abhayasika’.
