People work hard throughout their lives hoping to reach heaven after death.
Some fast, some give charity.
Some go on pilgrimages, while others believe in God.
Heaven is like a new housing society,
Where it seems like you have to accumulate virtues to get a small flat...
But stop for a moment and think about this...
I don't know... maybe we're already living in heaven?
As soon as you wake up in the morning, pay attention to your surroundings.
Press a button and darkness turns into light.
Press the second button and the fan will start spinning.
Press the third button and cool air fills the entire room.
Open the tap and water will start flowing.
Gas grilling means food is ready in just a few minutes.
Take your mobile phone out of your pocket and the whole world comes into your palm.
Even your loved ones who are thousands of kilometers away appear in front of you in a matter of seconds.
So many amazing features... but we take them for granted.
We act as if all this is our birthright.
Just imagine...
If a king from two hundred years ago came to your house today, he might not even want to go back to his palace.
he would ask in surprise
'What is this?' Hot water! 'Then what is this?' Cold air!
'What is this?' Information from all over the world!
'What is this?' Food that arrives at home in ten minutes!
Then he would laugh and say
"I ruled all my life, won wars, acquired immense wealth...
But I never got such facilities.'
This is true!
Today, even a common man is richer in many ways than the most powerful kings of old. That's...
We are not happy. Why?
Because the value of what a person has got gradually decreases. There is no joy when the AC is on. Only when it is turned off... there is trouble.
Having a mobile phone is not joy. When the network goes down, it feels like the world has ended. Having your own home is not satisfaction.
The sadness of the neighbor's house being big. The dissatisfaction of having one's own car. The worry of someone else's car being big.
That is why man, standing in his own heaven, becomes unhappy by comparing himself with the heaven of others.
But there is another world on this same earth...
Even today, millions of people stand in line for hours for a pitcher of water.
Even two meals a day are not guaranteed.
Children's dreams are shattered before they even reach the threshold of school. They don't even have proper clothes to cover their bodies.
The amenities we consider 'normal' are the greatest dream of life for others.
We can't find the AC remote.
So anger comes.
They don't even get the shade of a tree to protect them from the sun.
We are looking for a diet chart.
Those people go to sleep thinking about how they will get their next meal.
Then understand...
Heaven and hell are not places to be found after death...
It's right here...
On this earth...
In the same city...
On this road...
Sometimes two people on the same wall...
A boy from a house is frustrated because his new mobile phone is a bit slow.
The boy next door is crying because he doesn't have a mobile phone to study online.
A man complains because the hot water arrived five minutes late.
Another man prays to God, saying that he has found water today, and that is enough.
The difference is not just in the situation... the difference is also in the perspective.
Some people have learned to smile even in bad situations.
So some people cannot get rid of complaints despite having all the facilities.
The strangest habit of man is that
He counts every day what he doesn't have...
But he never takes stock of what he has.
Every night before you go to bed, write down just five things. Today I breathe.
Today I have water to drink. Today I got food.
Today I have a house to live in. Today my people are with me. Maybe our lives will change. Maybe 'heaven' is not a place... it is an experience! Similarly, 'hell' is also a place.
There is no space... Forgetting that experience is hell!
Being grateful for what we have is heaven.
Forgetting what you have got, living in complaints is hell. What happens after death?
No one knows for sure. But as long as we live, we have this beautiful earth, air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, our loving people, all at the push of a button.
We have got countless facilities. Despite all this, if we are always unhappy... then what greater misfortune can there be? Perhaps God is saying with a smile.
'I have kept you in heaven... but even there you are sitting there opening a complaints office!'
So from today, don't count complaints.... count 'gratitude'.
Because in a heart of 'gratitude,
