Founded in 2014, KARO is a public charitable trust that is set-up to provide holistic healthcare support to people in need.

The inspiration for this trust is however a more personal one, as ‘KARO’S’ founder experienced first hand, the mental and physical trauma one goes through when diagnosed with illnesses like, in his case, cancer. It was his desire to create an organisation that will hand hold patients, especially children, through the maze of doctors and prescriptions, taking care of both financial and emotional ne

eds. The questions he was trying to answer were how can we ensure that an illness or a disease does not obstruct the right to a happy, fulfilling life, and how can we make the process of recovery and healthcare the least painful and confusing. KARO seeks to bring financial relief to low income patients, with a lot of heartfelt care and commitment to the individual’s emotional and physical recovery. It also seeks to initiate a health education and awareness program specifically aimed at younger children and adults, thus imparting practical knowledge and encouraging personal health care from earlier on. Although there are many institutions, both profit and non-profit working valiantly to provide high standards of health care to our society, unfortunately, it is not yet enough to satisfy the increasing number of patients and cases that are suffering or being overlooked, due to reasons ranging from insufficient funds, to the paucity of information regarding medical options and procedures.

This July, Sarcoma Awareness Month, we’re talking about Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare, aggressive cancer that forms in the bones or surrounding soft tissues that mostly shows up in children and young adults, often just as they’re becoming teenagers.

Treatment can stretch 9-14 months, chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and the long road back after. At KARO, we walk that road with our Bravehearts and their family, so treatment is never delayed or interrupted by things it shouldn’t have to depend on, money, a place to stay, a meal.

At KARO, every milestone is celebrated together, because our family isn't just our team, it's our bravehearts, our caregivers, and everyone who walks this journey with us.

As our Centre Manager begins a beautiful new chapter, our bravehearts, caregivers, and team came together as one KARO family for a heartfelt farewell and a traditional Kelvan, filled with laughter, blessings, and cherished memories.

Moments like these remind us that KARO is more than a workplace. It's a community where relationships grow, memories are made, and every journey is celebrated together.

We're proud to introduce KARO Home Chembur, our third KARO Home, made possible in collaboration with Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF), as part of their CSR initiative.
Created to offer families a safe, comfortable, and caring space during their time in Mumbai for treatment, this home is another step towards ensuring that no family has to face their journey alone.

Our Bravehearts and their families stepped onto the dance floor, and for a few beautiful minutes, everything else could wait.

These are teenagers carrying something no one their age should have to carry. And their parents, who carry it alongside them, quietly, every single day.

For a little while, none of that was present. There was only music. Movement. And the kind of laughter that fills a room and doesn’t leave.
