We are delighted to present to you the August 2025 edition of UDAAN—a special issue marking transitions, achievements, and milestones within the ICT and UAA community.
Highlights of This Issue:
🔹 President’s Message – A farewell note from Hon. President Shree. Vijay Sane as the 2023–25 BoG term concludes; reflections on the journey, introduction of the UDCTFAMILY.COM alumni portal, and a call to participate in the ongoing BoG elections.
🔹 UAA Activities – Updates on the 37th AGM, Board of Governors election schedule, loan-to-student scheme feedback, membership drives, the Ahmedabad Chapter’s AGM, the 1984 Tech. Batch 40-year reunion, and insightful reflections from our Student Representatives (2024–25).
🔹 Proud of Our Achievers – Celebrating the global impact of our alumni, including Prof. Anant Kapdi, Dr. Raj Shah (ASTM Fellow), Dr. Shishir Gadam (CTO, Marea Therapeutics), and Dr. Vijay Habbu’s role in UNEP’s global plastics treaty negotiations.
🔹 ICT Highlights – Experiences from MBA (IEV) students’ transformative internships; launch of ICT–ITCFSAN’s Executive Diploma in Food Safety & Regulations; the Prof. G.M. Nabar, L.N. Gandhi & 1966 Textile Batch Endowment event; and the soulful Abhang Rang celebration by ICT Music Club.
🔹 Department & Chapter Focus – Spotlight on the Department of Fibres and Textile Processing Technology’s TexTweets initiative, industry-academia discussions on the future of Indian textiles, and activities from UAA chapters across Bharat and overseas.
🔹 Student Voices – First-hand accounts from UAA’s Student Representatives on leadership, event management, alumni engagement, and personal growth through their term.
🔹 Calls & Opportunities – Invitation for Distinguished Alumni to contribute to the ‘Know Your DA’ series, open call for life membership enrolments, and an appeal for alumni contributions to UDAAN’s growing platform.
