Powering Purpose: Our Partners in Impact

We’re proud to welcome Green Works Trust (GWT) as a new partner for FY 2025–26.

Working in and around the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary in Maharashtra, GWT is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of wild animals — while building stronger coexistence between people and wildlife.

With our support, GWT will:
🐍 Strengthen ethical and scientific wildlife rescues through training and capacity-building
🚨 Establish Immediate Response Teams (IRTs) of community volunteers and forest staff to handle emergencies
🌿 Conduct awareness programmes to reduce human–wildlife conflict and promote conservation

Together, we’re helping create a model for compassionate, community-led wildlife protection.

🐦 Green Works Trust Spreads Its Wings for Bird Week! 🌳

What a fantastic time we had celebrating Bird Week (Nov 5th - 12th, 2025) with the bright young minds of the village, in collaboration with ANSHU Foundation!

We took a moment to honor the legacy of India’s most celebrated bird scientists, Dr. Salim Ali (The Birdman of India) and Mr. Maruti Chittampalli (Aranyarushi), whose work inspires us all.

The real fun began with our bird-themed activities! We turned learning into a lively game, teaching the children about unique bird groups based on features like:
• Colour (e.g., bright plumage)
• Tail Length (e.g., long tails)
• Feeding Habits (e.g., raptors, granivores)
• Nesting Locations (e.g., tree-dwellers)

The children learned about each bird’s unique identification and special features. Their excitement and curiosity were amazing!
We believe that fostering this connection with nature starts young.

Keep an eye on the sky and appreciate the incredible avian life around

🌿*Hands that Drive, Hands that Stitch: A shout-out to our very own Nitin Bhoy*🌿
Kudos to our incredible team member, Mr. Nitin Bhoy! Last month, when our old waste collection bags were damaged due to heavy loads, Mr. Nitin Bhoy, who works as a tempo driver and is mainly responsible for transporting waste to the recycling unit, went above and beyond his role.
✨ Without being asked and without expecting any payment, he stitched 4 large-sized net bags for waste collection.
💡 This act is a powerful reflection of the impact of GWT’s awareness programs. The awareness created is now inspiring individuals, even beyond their job roles, to contribute proactively toward a cleaner, greener future.
This is what true grassroots change looks like! 🌍💚
Over the past year, Green Works Trust has been actively working in the villages and schools surrounding Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary under the Sustainable Phansad Project, conducting awareness programs on Solid Waste Management and enabling the collection and recycling of dry waste.
We’re proud to share that we have successfully sent:
♻️ 3+ tons of plastic
♻️ 6+ tons of other dry waste
for recycling – all thanks to the collective effort of the local community and our passionate team!

🦎 Children bring lizards to life through art! 🎨

As part of Project Sustainable Phansad, 52 Katkari tribal children from 5 hamlets — Wave, Walvati, Wadghar, Beliwadi & Sumradevi had an exciting journey to discover the elusive world of lizards! 🌿

Through nature trails followed by discussions and a creative art session, children observed, learnt, and expressed their love for reptiles through beautiful drawings. 💚

This unique ‘Training the Tribes’ activity helped blend observation skills, local tribal knowledge, and creativity, bringing young minds closer to biodiversity in their own backyards.

📍 25 children (6–9 yrs)
📍 27 children (10–15 yrs)

Swipe to see their wild imaginations come alive on paper! 🖌️✨

This project, part of our 'Sustainable Phansad' initiative in partnership with SBI Foundation, is empowering local tribal communities. By learning beekeeping, they're building sustainable livelihoods while helping protect the sanctuary's delicate ecosystem.

This honey is more than just a sweet treat. It represents the hard work of these communities and our shared commitment to environmental and social well-being. We're proud to support this initiative that blends traditional knowledge with modern practices, creating a brighter future for both people and nature.
