DBM INDIA (DBM) is a humanitarian organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty & injustice. DBM serves all people regardless of religion, caste, race, ethnicity or gender. DBM under the legal umbrella of Navasrushti International Trust has set its objective as Hunger-Free-India. Under the Hunger-Free-India campaign DBM has adopted the 3E approach – Education, Employment & Empowerment. Activities include:-
1. Providing mid day meals to around 2000 children in 11 adopted schools.
2. Skilling some 2000 youth and women every year through its 4 Vocational Training Centers which offer courses like Tailoring, Beautician, Mobile Repairing, Balwadi Teacher Training, Para Nursing & Computer Courses.
3. Educational Interventions – Scholarships, Teaching English, Maths & Science through Volunteers, Setting up Libraries and Study Centres, Mobile Science Labs etc.
4. Running a higher education help centre cm Library & Study Centre for the youth of M-ward, Mumbai in association with TISS.
5. Health Initiatives- Tackling Malnourishment, Health checkup of School children..
6. An Education Centre- Udaan - teaching the underserved with a difference.
7. Some 250 Volunteers of DBM teach English every week at our adopted schools.
8. Toilets have been provided for girl students as the absence of toilets was keeping the girls away.
