TISS Q***r Collective is an informal support group which focuses on Q***r identified young individuals. The word Q***r is defined by the group as any state of vulnerability or marginalization that makes the individual feel alienated or ostracized by society based on their identities which are subject to self-determination. We, as a group focus primarily on identities on the basis of gender, sexual
ity and sexual orientation. The collective focuses on two major aspects of support, namely “Being” and “Doing”. The “Being” aspect of the collective primarily focuses on creating a safe space for individuals along with making available the information to various resources that people might be in the need of especially in cases of violence (physical or emotional) and mental health. The “Doing” aspect of the organisation focuses on creating visibility for the collective and issues pertaining to the it in the public forum with the help of events, and reaching out to other possible allies and also trying to build a more inter sectional approach.
