This a non government organisation (NGO) that has been working towards the upliftment of tribals in the Maharashtra state by providing medical and educational aid. Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA) was established by Shri Ramakant Keshav Deshpande, on 26th December 1952 at Jashpur in Madhya Pradesh with the inspiration from Shri Thakkar Bappa (The great Sarvodayi karyakarta) by enrolling 6 children of Oraon tribe.
