Model UN society came into existence in the academic session 2010-11, to provide a platform to students who are eager to broaden their mindset and develop abilities like speaking, debating and negotiating by participating in MUNs across the globe. n 2010-11, to provide a platform to students who are eager to broaden their mindset and develop abilities like speaking, debating and negotiating by participating in Model UN Conferences across the globe. It has been industriously infusing MUNning skills into eager minds by organizing various events and activities throughout the year for instance, Intra Model United Nations conference, TM-MUN 2011, TS-MP MUN 2012, TM-MUN 2012, regular workshops on the Rules of Procedure, Resolution writing in educational institutes across Mumbai. Furthermore it organizes various Practice Debate sessions and Debate Competitions in the college hence providing equal opportunity to explore one’s potential. It is the proud host of the Mumbai MUN that has been a successful international MUN in the past two years, adding its one-of-a-kind flagship event MYLS (Mumbai Youth Leaders’ Summit) which saw dignitaries like Mr Chandan Mitra, Ms Brinda Miller and many others in an interactive panel discussion. Students of MPSTME have won widespread accolades for their achievements at national as well as international levels towards which the members of the Model UN society have contributed immensely. One of the pinnacles of the society’s success so far is highlighted by the participation in the world’s largest MUN organized by Harvard University, popularly known as the Olympics of MUN. With the support of the University and the College, the delegation attended the conference held in Singapore (2011), Vancouver (2012) and Melbourne (2013) receiving widespread appreciation. Delegates to Harvard World MUN 2012, Vancouver BC and Harvard World MUN 2013, Melbourne made us the only Indian college to win the Diplomacy Award twice; the highest honor achievable in MUNning in the world. The students from our MUN Society have also been receipts of the Resolution Fellowship to help make their social ideas a reality with the help of support, funding and ongoing mentorship. Thus, we at the MPSTME MUN Society, not just encourage developing global awareness, negotiation, oration and articulation skills but also lay an emphasis on bringing a lasting positive change.
