Received an appeal from SNEHA from Dr. Sushma Malik with whom we have been closely associated since many years while she was working at the Nair Hosp.
*SNEHA* (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) is a registered Trust working since 1999 to improve health and nutrition of women and children living in vulnerable urban informal settlements. We request your support for the Romila Palliative Care Program, which supports palliative care to patients and families suffering from life-limiting illnesses through both home-based and out-patient services, to ensure that the patient is symptom free and lives with utmost dignity and comfort. We provide free services by a team of trained doctors, nurses, and counsellors working with nutritionists, physiotherapists and other professionals, to deliver quality care to the patient and their family and caregivers.
A large number of our patients have severe life limiting illnesses and are often also bedridden. They require various items at home to make the patient to get quality care like wheel chairs, walking stick, commode chair, nebulizer, HGT machine, thermometers, pulse oximeter, air-oxygen concentrator, BIPAP machine etc ( detailed list with approximate price is attached). The donation of above items will go a long way in supporting our patients who are poor or even those who have depleted all their savings post expensive long term treatment options. It will enable our caregiver to look after their patient well and contribute to improving the quality of life of our patients which is ultimately our goal.
Thanking you in advance.
We thank you for your contribution and support of our work. Yours Sincerely,
Dr Sushma Malik
