In July 2004, the Foundation began its first community intervention programme. This involved conducting health awareness sessions in the ‘Pratiksha Nagar’ community at Sion, Mumbai. Ra also provides education and training to the community on various health-related issues.In 2006, the Foundation, through its experience of supporting a girl child, who lived on the pavement with her blind parents, fe
lt the need to provide education in a conducive environment and began work in the area of education. The idea was to give an opportunity to children from lower socio-economic strata and difficult family backgrounds to eradicate their plight by providing assistance in re-writing their future by changing their living environment and by means of quality holistic education to lead a happy respectable life. Thus, with this mission in mind The Ra Happy Kids Programme was created.
