Strengthening Rural Entrepreneurship Through Innovation and Collaboration

AIC-RMP alongwith RMP & UMED-MSRLM leadership team were honoured to interact with Hon. Shri Jaykumar Gore, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayar Raj, Government of Maharashtra, on 7th September 2026 at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhin i, Uttan- Thane for a discussion on the URJA (UMED Rural Jeevanonnati Accelerator)- Maharashtra Rural Incubation Program under DAY-NRLM.

In the presence of ED-RMP Abhiram Ghadyalpatil & COO- UMED MSRLM Nikhilkumar Oswal, Uday Wankawala (CEO, AIC-RMP) shared insights into AIC-RMP’s vision, initiatives, and its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods. He also provided an overview of URJA project supported by Sachindra Kamble (Manager, Incubation) wherein the Project Manager, Satish Bhosale was present alongside Ms. Ashwini from UMED-MSRLM team.

The interaction reaffirmed a shared commitment towards building a stronger rural entrepreneurial ecosystem, empowering women-led enterprises, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities across Maharashtra.

Shaping Conversations on the Future of Work & Gen Z

Uday Wankawala, CEO, AIC-RMP, represented AIC-RMP at the BIA EC & Monthly Meeting held on 2nd September 2026 at Hotel Ginger, Mumbai.

The evening featured an engaging Fireside Chat on “Where the Young Are Going”, exploring how young people are making career choices, building businesses, and seeking organisations that understand and support their aspirations.

The conversation brought valuable perspectives on hiring and retaining young talent, entrepreneurship, and working with emerging founders who are shaping the future.

The discussion encouraged participants to look beyond whether young people are moving away from traditional career paths and instead ask:

“Are the young moving away from us—or showing us where the future is moving?”

Through AIC-RMP’s continued engagement with startups and young entrepreneurs, such conversations contribute to building a stronger and more future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We are delighted to share that Atal Incubation Centre – Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (AIC-RMP) has been honoured with the 2026 for our contribution towards strengthening India’s innovation, startup, and incubation ecosystem.

Engineering has always been about transforming challenges into possibilities. At AIC-RMP, we are proud to contribute to this journey by supporting innovators, nurturing entrepreneurial talent, and helping ideas evolve into impactful ventures.

From ideas to impact. From innovation to opportunity.
AIC-RMP is pleased to share that Sachindra Kamble, Incubation Manager, AIC-RMP, served as an Expert Member of the Evaluation Committee for MSME Idea Hackathon 6.0, organised by VPM’s K. G. Joshi College of Arts & N. G. Bedekar College of Commerce (Autonomous), Thane.
Held on 24 August 2026 under the aegis of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, the evaluation brought together around 15 innovative ideas presented by external startups and student teams.
The session created a valuable platform for emerging innovators to showcase their ideas, gain expert perspectives, and strengthen their journey towards building viable, market-ready and impactful ventures.
AIC-RMP appreciates the efforts of VPM’s K. G. Joshi College of Arts & N. G. Bedekar College of Commerce in nurturing innovation and creating meaningful opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES. ENERGISING CHANGE.

The Boot Camp successfully brought together UMED representatives, Village Federations (Gram Sangh), women entrepreneurs, and officials from 24 districts across Maharashtra at YASHADA, Baner, Pune, on 12th & 13th August 2026.

UMED District-Level Workshop

During the district-level workshop, participants were briefed on who the URJA Project is for, its key objectives, processes, guidelines, and its importance for rural women entrepreneurs. Through insightful discussions and practical guidance, participants gained a clearer understanding of how the project can contribute to sustainable and holistic community development.

Officials, women representatives, presidents, and women entrepreneurs from various districts were present on the occasion, bringing together diverse experiences, perspectives, and aspirations towards building stronger communities.

With enthusiastic participation from stakeholders across Maharashtra, the Boot Camp marked another meaningful step towards creating stronger, empowered, and energy-conscious communities while strengthening the role of rural women entrepreneurs in sustainable development.
