Antarya - A Care Program Fest ~

Antarya means “what is within oneself”.

The thought of this event started with a simple idea to create a space where children could just be themselves, not judged, not restricted, just free to feel, express, have fun and connect. And that’s how antarya came to life.

There were different stations and zones for kids to explore, experience and express joy, creativity and emotions. There were moments of pure joy, self learning and understanding one-self better. Different activities helped the children unfold a new side of themselves, they were cheering for each other, helping each other, laughing without holding back and stepping onto the stage with courage they didn’t know they had. There were a lot of softer and meaningful moments where children opened up, they expressed and also helped their friends express their emotions which they were holding back. Kids enjoyed each and every room which was converted into different stations.
The cherry on the cake was the musical session, kids sang along with the musician and they were jamming together.

At the end many of them said “Didi we don’t want to go home” which showed that with the help of antarya we successfully created a safe and fun space for our children to express and enjoy themselves.

Final Result Sharing- 2025-26

Sharing the progress of children was deeply fulfilling for both the children and the mentors.
A year-long journey of commitment, involvement, learning, and continuous improvement - where every step and every decision was taken with the intention of creating the best possible learning opportunities.

Result sharing is also an opportunity for parents to express their aspirations for their children, share their concerns, and deepen their understanding of how their children can grow and improve.

Art as a medium of relaxation ~

We start our classes everyday with meditation, positive affirmations, anything that helps us and our children feel relaxed and completely present for learning.
As much as my little learners’ love moving around, leading meditation circles with deep breathing techniques - they are also equally fond of relaxing and unwinding through art!

That's when I thought of turning one of our meditation circles into an art circle where we all shared a quiet space with soothing music, and slowly coloured a mandala.
It was a great start to the day!

M. has been a part of Touching Lives for almost a year now. She has been a very helpful and regular student. She loves to read stories and enjoys learning through games and activities. She also likes to play sports and learn something new every day. She is quick with words and is an expressive kid.

Her growth has been upwards. She often sits back after class to help me keep everything back at its place. She not only is helpful with her mentor but also shares and cares about all her peers in the class.

There are days when even a child has too many emotions at once, but M. is someone who, at the very young age of nine, knows how to compartmentalize. She is dedicated and mature for children of her age group.

A student-led classroom~

Students were given topics to prepare and invited to teach them to their classmates. They planned the class, explained the concept, and shared their learnings.

Standing in front of their peers helped them slowly overcome hesitation and build confidence and clarity. Seeing their friends teach also sparked curiosity and encouraged more active participation.

During these sessions, students used the board confidently, asked questions, and even helped clear each other’s doubts.

Sports Day at Touching Lives was filled with energy and excitement, with all students geared up for the day. Children who are usually calm and disciplined were seen at their most enthusiastic, expressing themselves freely on the field. The ground was prepared over two hours for football and the lemon-and-spoon race. Mentors stood with whistles around their necks, trying to keep the games organized amid the growing excitement.

The seriousness of the matches felt almost at a World Cup level, with every goal celebrated as a personal victory - even when scored by a teammate. It was exhilarating to see the field remain lively and joyfully wild.

Learning Has No Age ~

“I have always been fond of learning English, but life never gave me the opportunity to pursue it,” expressed a mother who is now a part of our Dream Project. This year, she took admission - along with her daughter.

Though reading and speaking in English felt difficult at first, her determination never wavered. To support her journey, small and achievable goals were set. She began by reading short stories and courageously sharing what she had read with the mentor during class. With time, the focus gently shifted towards speaking. A volunteer was also allotted for her practice regularly.

Today, she is able to read and speak English better than before. While she may still hesitate at times, the progress she has made is visible. Recently, she shared in class how her friends have noticed this positive change in her and appreciated her efforts.
