⚠️ Pedestrians & cyclists beware ⚠️

Jaywalking is often the only forced option when footpaths are encroached, dug up, or blocked — putting lives at risk daily.

Grab a high-visibility reflective safety belt like the one shown in the attached image. It weighs 90 g and is available online for just ₹200.

Why it’s essential:
- Dark clothing + poor street/vehicle lighting = nearly invisible to drivers.
- High beams, monsoon mist, dirty windscreens, or faulty AC obscure and blind drivers — these reflective strips cut through glare.
- Bikers: your vehicle has broken or poorly lit signal indicators? Your belt gives extra warning time to rear/tailgating vehicles.
- Low light, dawn, dusk, or night — risk skyrockets; reflective gear dramatically boosts detection distance (studies show drivers spot dark-clad pedestrians far too late).
- Highlights your motion (arm/leg movement) so drivers instantly recognise you as a person, not a shadow or sign.
- Rain, fog, or bad weather reduces visibility — fluorescent neon + retro-reflective bands make you stand out from afar.
- Gives drivers precious extra seconds to react, avoiding fatal “looked but didn’t see” crashes.

Stay seen, stay safe. One simple, cheap, featherweight belt could save your life. Get yours today!

BMC plans hawker-free zones across all wards | बीएमसी सर्व वॉर्डांमध्ये फेरीवालामुक्त झोनची योजना आखत आहे

The illegal hawker menace around Orlem Market, Malad West is choking public spaces & roads, causing chaos.

We urge a sustainable solution : build a mini stadium at Cardinal Gracias Ground with shops for authorized vendors under the seating arrangement, while spectators inside facing the ground.

This ensures hawker-free zones, clear walkways for pedestrians & decongested roads for motorists while supporting vendors’ livelihoods.

Great news!
After relentless advocacy, the crucial DP road linking Kanchpada to Sunder Lane via Aurus Serenity is finally operational.
This long-awaited connection, first highlighted in our 2022 post about the barricaded public pathway amid private plots, will ease traffic jams on Marve Road up to Mithchowki signal, rerouting vehicles from Liberty Garden straight to Link Road through Aurus.
A hard-fought victory in pushing for clearances to restore this vital access!

Mumbaikars, our city deserves better; and it starts with YOUR vote! 🗳️🫵🏽

As Safety Sheer from , I urge every eligible voter in Mumbai to step out tomorrow (15 January 2026) and cast your vote in the BMC Elections.

Our localities need:
• Reliable 24x7 water supply
• Dust-free, well-marked, disciplined roads
• Hoarding- and banner-free clean streets
• Dedicated bicycle lanes and skywalks
• Clean, maintained public toilets every 500 meters
• Unobstructed footpaths accessible to the specially-abled
• Safe, beautiful gardens and playgrounds for our children
• Better, efficient public transport
• Organized marketplaces with separate sections for fish, meat, fruits & vegetables

These are not luxuries; they are our basic civic rights! They become reality only when we elect approachable, dedicated, and truly people-focused Corporators who work for us, not for themselves.

Tomorrow is polling day — 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Don’t miss it! Check your name on the voter list, carry your ID, and vote smartly for progress, safety, and a better Mumbai.
Your one vote can transform our streets, neighbourhoods, and daily lives.

Wishing all candidates; independents and from every party, the very best of luck!
May the winners serve with full sincerity, transparency, and dedication to fulfil their promises and make Mumbai truly world-class.

It’s July 2025, and despite very few safety upgrades around Orlem, Malad West, many issues linger since 2018!!

Faded signs, missing thermoplastic paint, and absent cat-eye reflectors/solar indicators at speedbreakers and crossings highlight ongoing neglect.

MyBmc staff efficiency and zone assignments remain unclear, with endless complaints to (Road/Traffic Dept) and मुंबई पोलीस-ऑन ड्युटी २४ तास , yielding no accountability for road/pedestrian safety.

Key concerns:
1) Sunder Lane : No right turn signs, potholes, missing lane markers, reinstated speedbreaker needed.
2) DeMonte Lane : No right turn, step island, zebra crossing.
3) Dias Lane : No right turn, step island, road name plate missing.
4) Baudi Cross Lane : No right turn, compulsory left, road name plate missing.
5) Near Orlem Church : No entry signs, zebra crossing.
6) Near Orlem Bazaar : No entry, traffic island, zebra crossing.
7) Fr. Justin DeSouza Rd : No entry/enforcement, zebra crossings.

This lapse in govt commitment endangers lives—act now!
