BPNI Maharashtra mourns the sad demise of it's Founder, Mentor & Guide Dr N B Kumta on Monday, 23 Sep 2024.

He was Former Professor & HOD of Pediatrics, KEM Hospital, Mumbai & Past President, Indian Academy of Pediatrics..

He guided breastfeeding movement among paediatricians & gynaecologists and founded BPNI Mah ( formally registered in 1998. )He laid a strong foundation in Infant & young child Nutrition.He was a very popular teacher.

In his honour Dr N B Kumta award has been instituted by BPNI Mah since 1993.

We are going to miss you sir …
Prayers to the almighty may he bestow Moksha to the departed soul, and give strength to his family to face the crisis beset upon, and emerge stronger from it. Amen

Heartiest congratulations to Dr Sushma Malik, our president, for being elected to the *Board of Directors of the International Lactation Consultant Association( ILCA)* for a three year term beginning Oct 2023. This was announced at the AGM of ILCA held today, 11th Oct at Las Vegas, USA.
She is the *first Indian* to be elected to the Board.
It is truly a huge honour and responsibility of promoting the cause of lactation management on a global platform & representing India!! We are all soooo proud of you👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
