🌱 Small Actions. Consistent Efforts. Meaningful Impact. ♻️

The project is called Plastic Smart Powai, a public driven cleanliness and recycling initiative, since 2018 in Powai area by Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers in association with Project Mumbai (notable NGO) and Threco (certified e waste vendor)

What started as a simple initiative has grown into a sustained effort — reminding us that creating a cleaner, greener community is not about one big action, but about showing up, month after month, and doing our part. 🌍💚

Because every bottle collected, every piece of e-waste responsibly discarded, and every person who participates brings us one step closer to a more sustainable future.

Together, let’s keep the habit going. Small efforts. Big difference. 🌿

2nd BOD of the Regal Year 💡✨

Yet another afternoon filled with brainstorming, ideation, fresh perspectives, meaningful conversations and amazing food🤩

Every time we come together, the focus remains the same — how can we do things better? Better ideas, better initiatives, greater impact and, most importantly, more meaningful service. ❤️

That’s exactly what we plan for this Regal year — to keep challenging ourselves, thinking differently and striving to make every initiative better than the last.

Together, let’s turn ideas into action and action into impact! 🤝✨

A Visit That Reminded Us What Truly Matters — Our Elders, Our Parents, Our Roots ❤️

Recently, Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers visited Heaven’s Old Age Home, Bhandup, and came away humbled, grateful and, in many ways, speechless.

We spent time with more than 28 senior citizens, most of them above 70, many living with health challenges and limited mobility. We went with a few essentials — diapers and groceries — but what we received in return was far more precious: their smiles, stories, warmth and blessings. ❤️

It was truly a collective effort by all Lakers who took out time to visit this beautiful place along with a special guest from Rotary Club London, whose presence made the gathering even more meaningful.

Sometimes, life reminds us of the simplest truths.

❤️ The greatest gift we can give another human being is not always money or material things. It is our time, our attention, our presence — and the simple feeling that someone cares.

A beautiful afternoon of seva, togetherness, love and blessings — one that will stay with all of us for a long time. 🙏🏻

🇮🇳 80 YEARS OF FREEDOM. 80 YEARS OF PRIDE. ONE NATION. ONE HEART. 🇮🇳

This Independence Day, we celebrated not just our freedom, but the spirit of India — courage, sacrifice, service and unity. ❤️🤍💚

On 15th August 2026, the DK Flag Foundation, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers, brought Powai together for a spectacular celebration of our 80th Independence Day.

The morning began with a magnificent 65 ft × 35 ft National Flag Pride Parade, led by Marshals, members of Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers, DK Flag Foundation, NGOs and residents of Powai — marching from Ventura Building, to Tivoli CHS.

🇮🇳 The highlight —
A Ceremonial Flag Raising at an incredible 300 feet at Tivoli CHS.

But the celebration was about much more than the flag. It was about honouring those who serve, celebrating champions, empowering lives and bringing our community together.

✨ Tribute to 26 SCG National Security Guards
✨ Honouring Retired Armed Forces & Police Personnel
✨ Felicitation of National Para Athletes & a Powerlifting Champion
✨ Wheelchair Donation for National Para Athletes
✨ Vibrant performances by school children
✨ A proud gathering of citizens united by patriotism
✨ Donation of hearing devices to children with hearing impairment

Because patriotism is not just about raising a flag.
It is about standing together, honouring sacrifice, serving others and making a difference. ❤️

🇮🇳 UNITED WE STAND. PROUD WE ARE. 🇮🇳

Feel the pride. Live the spirit. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳

Our Dental Check-up Camp was successfully conducted at Guru Nanak School in collaboration with the dedicated doctors from MGM Dental College & Hospital.

This initiative is part of our ongoing community healthcare program, through which we regularly organize medical camps and health examinations for school children. Our aim is to promote preventive healthcare, encourage early detection, and create greater awareness about the importance of oral health.
We are delighted to share that 700 dental check-ups were successfully completed during this camp. We extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors, school authorities, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success.
Together, we continue to work towards building a healthier future for our children.

Rotary Lakers has been creating a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare for years, and this July was no exception.

As part of our Medical Services initiatives, we conducted free eye screening camps for school students—the future of our society. The screenings revealed that many children were facing undiagnosed vision problems that could have affected their learning and overall development.

Beyond the check-ups, our team also provided counselling and guidance to students, helping them understand the importance of eye care and encouraging timely treatment.

A simple eye test today can open the door to a brighter future tomorrow. Here’s to continuing our commitment to healthier communities and brighter smiles.
