The Suraksha Sakhi program’s partnership with Aangan has come to a close, and we celebrated the journey with our dedicated partners over the years!

The event was attended by 330+ women, as well as representatives from the police, Mahila Salah Suraksha Kendra, and school principals and teachers. When asked about what safety means for girls and women, they shared a vision of a world where they can express their thoughts freely, without hesitation, and travel anywhere with confidence. A world where they do not feel “asahya” (oppressed or suffocated), and are free from the fear of violence.

Although Aangan’s journey in the program has concluded, the Suraksha Sakhis and the police are dedicated to continuing their collaboration to ensure the safety of girls and women.

We’re excited to announce that Chaitali Sheth, our Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Aangan, has been selected as one of 14 social impact leaders in the inaugural Motwani Jadeja Impact Fellowship! She is going to be one of the leaders representing India’s impact sector at a global forum during the UN General Assembly in New York.

Chaitali is an invaluable asset to our team, deeply committed to Aangan's mission of keeping children safe since 2013. She expertly manages programmatic and operational functions across teams and states, ensuring our strategic goals are met. She also co-leads fundraising, advocacy, and communication efforts with government, funders, and civil society organisations. Chaitali's contribution is immense and unwavering, and we are thrilled for her to receive this recognition as she takes Aangan's work to new heights!

We recently attended Studio Subu's , where we explored effective for the sector. The conference was a fantastic chance for us to sharpen our skills— from building robust annual communication strategies to fine-tuning our design eye and crafting compelling pitches.

We also loved connecting with other teams across the development sector and gaining fresh perspectives on amplifying our child protection work. Here’s to new learnings and broader impacts!
