🌸 IAP Mumbai conducted a health check up camp at KES International School Kandivali West on 14th and 15th July 2026*.

🌸550 children were examined from nursery to class 10. They were examined and counselled for nutrition, hygiene, any specific medical issues and vaccination.

🌸 The camp was conducted by our EB members Dr Arpita Vakil and Dr Nita Jagad and our IAP Mumbai members Dr Sunila Jathar and Dr Sangita Shanbhag.

🌸 These children were also examined by pediatric ophthalmologist Dr Roshni Desai and pediatric dentist Dr Krutika Jain.

🌸 The program was coordinated by sister JayshreeBen Kapadia on behalf of KES international school and Dr Nita Jagad on behalf of IAP Mumbai.

🌸An interactive session on “Healthy Choices, Be Healthy“ was taken for 120 Students and 7 teachers of Atomic Energy Central School 5, Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai.

🌸The session was conducted and coordinated by Dr Anita Patil, EB member IAP Mumbai.

🌸Students were introduced to the concept healthy food choice, physical activity, smart internet use and importance of sleep in day to day life through interactive discussions.

🌸The students participated enthusiastically throughout the session, making it highly interactive and thought-provoking session .

🌸As a part of National BLS/ CPR Day, IAP Mumbai EB member Dr Anita Patil conducted an awareness session for parents and care takers on 25th July at New Mandala Clinic, Mumbai.

🌸The session included presentation and hands-on CPR training on mannequin.

🌸A total of 67 parents and care takers attended the session. Every participant had the opportunity to perform hands-on CPR.

🌸The program was coordinated and conducted by Dr Anita Patil on behalf of IAP Mumbai.

🌸IAP Mumbai organised a Vitamin D Conclave on 26th July 2026 at the Radisson Blu Mumbai International Airport Hotel. The half-day CME covered various aspects of Vitamin D through a series of engaging academic sessions.

🌸The program began with an outstanding lecture by Dr. R. K. Marwaha, the pioneer and doyen of Vitamin D research in India. His highly interactive session was followed by an excellent panel discussion on key aspects of Vitamin D The conclave also included insightful talks on the role of Vitamin D in rheumatology and adolescence, and concluded with practical recommendations on Vitamin D use in clinical practice.

🌸The distinguished faculty included Dr. R. K. Marwaha, Dr. Alok Sardesai, Dr. Jayati Jhala, Dr. Jagruti Sanghvi, Dr. Sikha Agarwal, Dr. Amruta Shirodkar, and Dr. Rajul Patel.

🌸The CME was attended by 43 delegates and was appreciated for its high-quality scientific content and interactive discussions.

🌸IAP Mumbai organized the Advanced course on Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in liason with IAP NRP FGM team on 12th July 2026 at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital, Powai.

🌸20 delegates participated in this program with 3 instructors and 1 observer faculty.

🌸Dr Anjali Otiv was the lead instructor along with other faculty members – Dr. Amit Ghawade, Dr Harshada Uchil.

🌸The session was very interactive and highly appreciated by the delegates.

🌸The Department of Pediatrics, at Nair Hospital in collaboration with IAP Mumbai, celebrated National CPR Day, observed on 21st July 2026.

🌸As part of the celebration, Dr. Sushma Save, Professor, Additional Professor, and President-Elect of IAP Mumbai, along with Dr. Poonam Wade, Dr. Neha Bhongale, Dr. Jaya Khatri, Dr. Sonu Antony and Dr. Anushka P (Professor Additional & Assistant Professors) Dr. Shivani, Dr Anjali, Dr Zenia, Dr Dishi (Senior Residents), conducted the Workshop on Pediatric BLS for the postgraduate students on 21st July 2026. The session included presentations, videos, and hands-on CPR/BLS training.

🌸A total of 13 post graduate students, along with the faculties of the department attended the session. Every participant had the opportunity to perform hands-on CPR, making the session highly interactive and engaging. The programme was well appreciated by the postgraduate students.

🌸We are grateful to Dr. Surbhi Rathi, Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics, and Dean Dr. Shailesh Mohite for their constant encouragement and support.

🌸IAP Mumbai organised and conducted an awareness talk on ORS in the OPD at Rawalpada Municipal Maternity Hospital on 17/7/2026

🌸 The session was conducted by Dr Nita Jagad for the patients waiting in the ANC and PNC OPD. The importance of using ORS and prevention of dehydration in diarrheal diseases was explained. Also the difference between WHO ORS and commercially available drinks with similar names was explained and stressed on how to choose the right ORS.
Attendees were explained in detail about preparation of ORS and how to make salt and sugar solution at home.

🌸 About 30 patients and their relatives attended the session.

🌸 The program was coordinated by Sister Vaishali Aras on behalf of Rawalpada Municipal Maternity hospital and Dr Nita Jagad on behalf of IAP Mumbai

🌸As part of an IAP Mumbai Branch initiative, a Life Skills Education Program was conducted at Cardinal Gracias High School, Bandra East, on 24th July 2026 for 294 students of Grade VII.

🌸The session was conducted by Dr. Amruta Shirodkar, Dr. Rajul Patel, and Dr. Rajesh Kasla. Students were introduced to the concept of life skills and their application in day to day life through interactive discussions, role plays, and case-based learning.

🌸The students participated enthusiastically throughout the session, making it highly interactive and thought-provoking. The program was very well received, with excellent feedback from both the students and the school, highlighting the importance of life skills education in promoting the overall development of adolescents.

🌸The program was co-ordinated by Dr Amruta Shirodkar on behalf of IAP Mumbai.

🌸The Department of Pediatrics, Nair Hospital, in collaboration with IAP Mumbai, celebrated National CPR Day, observed on 21st July 2026.

🌸As part of the celebration, Dr. Sushma Save, Professor, Additional Professor, and President-Elect of IAP Mumbai, along with Dr. Zenia, Dr. Waqar, and Dr. Osama (Senior Residents), conducted an awareness session for first-year nursing students on 23rd July 2026. The session included presentations, videos, and hands-on CPR training.

🌸A total of 95 nursing students, along with their Sister Tutor, attended the session. Every participant had the opportunity to perform hands-on CPR, making the session highly interactive and engaging. The programme was well appreciated by the nursing students.
