We have a heartbreaking case from Dahisar Ketkipada — the dog's eye was infested with maggots. They have really eaten a lot of flesh and almost exposed the skull.

We rescued him last night and admitted to the hospital. We are looking at expenses of approximately :

* Transportation: ₹2,000

Last night a dog fell into a construction pit. Fell in such a way that a rod went through and through him. He was brought to Always Care Clinic, Pawandham, where he was stabilized. The laborers who found him worked quickly and cut the length of the rod.

A CT scan and necessary diagnostics were done to understand the extent of the damage. The stomach was not punctured luckily and the spine too was intact.

Critical, he was kept at Always Care Clinic, Pawandham overnight and under observation. We tried to get a surgeon but it was late so no luck.

At 9 am. today, a successful surgery was performed at URBAN PAWS PET CLINIC & SURGICAL CENTER . By God's grace, he is doing well and will be recovering at YODA for the next 15 days.

Big shout out to YODA who is doing the post-operative care for us. We are grateful for your constant support. Thank you to Always Care Clinic, PAWANDHAM, for being there for us throughout the night. Thanks finally to our volunteers at TEAM MAA, who sat through the night with the dog. Their thoughts and prayers with him constantly. Hope his willpower pulls him through this critical phase.

Happy Holi to you and your family...on spring's arrival may the triumph be of good over evil. May you have love, new beginnings, and forgiveness.

We also pray for a safe Holi for our street animals. Most colours are made with chemicals that damage an animal's fur. The skin itches and they scratch continuously making tiny cuts and wounds that later get infested with maggots. While humans can wash off these colours easily, even the herbal ones can be difficult to get off a an animal's coat.

This cat well, we dunno how it even managed to survive. The prognosis is bleak even after we did the hernia surgery and the spay at the same time. This is a long foster case because and the reporter is helping us by keeping him. We will take him daily from her house to the vet for a check up and saline.
We need your help to pay for these cases. It is going to be a daily cost up and down with ambulance and vet charges.

We found this dog and did not know what was wrong until we reached the vet and found that the mouth was filled with maggots. Dr has advised us to come daily to flush it and for saline. It needs to be kept in foster and monitored daily. It is likely to be anorexic as well. We don't have any foster available and there is no space in any of the NGOs currently. So we have kept him in a building in the lobby safely for now.

An unfortunate incident occurred when a stray dog fell into a deep pit at a building construction site. He sustained serious injuries and the vet confirmed a fracture in the paw bones of the right forelimb.

He will need to be in an enclosure and splinting (non-surgical) fixation. We admitted him to Bhumi Jeevdaya for further treatment.

We are looking at expenses of Transportation: ₹5,000, Foster care: ₹ 15,000 and an approximate vet bill of between ₹5 to 8,000 depending on the treatment. We are looking at a big bill of at least ₹ 25,000 for this case alone.

This case was admitted to Bhumi Jeev Daya on the 11th of October. An animal lover found him frail and lethargic in the middle of the road. He has recuperated and is being released today.

He's an old dog. He needs a safe place and in the meanwhile, the reporter and us are trying to find him a forever shelter.

So this is a real puzzling one. One of the young dogs in the neighborhood suddenly got these blue eyes. Now it's not blue, blue, but the pupils have got a milky film over them.

We rushed him to the vet yesterday and Dr. declared him, unable to see. He also had us do a blood test to pin point why this occured. Have a follow-up on Monday. Let's see what the prognosis is.

She's back hale and hearty. We rescued her just in time. She can now live a happy and safe life with her feeder.

Unfortunate case we had in Thakur Village the other day. This female dog got a bout of fits right in the middle of the road. Luckily volunteers were around and they rushed her to Dr Mayur where IV fluids were administered immediately.

She is now in the care of Bhumi Jeevdaya because she has to be in an enclosure and has to be given liver supplements everyday as she is on Doxy and that impacts the liver. She is on IV since she is not in a position to eat.

Dr has recommended a blood test (CBC + LFT + KFT) on Monday. He suspects she is getting fits because the infection has reached the brain. Only a blood test can help ascertain that. We request your help for sweet fuggy. We have admission charges and blood tests to pay for.

We currently have a case where the dog has become very weak and has stopped eating. We took him for a creatinine test to assess kidney function.

Creatinine is a waste product from normal muscle and protein breakdown that is filtered by the kidneys and excreted in urine. The dog has high blood creatinine indicating that the kidneys are not filtering properly. We have hospitalized him and have to do a few more tests.
