Improve access and quality of education for 10 million learners cumulatively by 2035. Donations to Educate Girls are exempted from tax u/s 80G of Indian IT Act.

Educate Girls mobilises communities to take a stand against gender disparity, working directly with governments, schools, parents, village leaders, and Team Balika volunteers to ensure access to quality education. By empowering village communities to improve the quality of girls’ education and infrastructure in their government schools, more girls can be educated at large scales. If more girls are educated, then their health, income levels and overall livelihoods improve, bringing about social transformation of rural and tribal societies. Educate Girls is a project of Foundation To Educate Girls Globally (FEGG). FEGG is registered under Section 8 of the Indian Companies Act, 2013

“पढ़ लिखकर क्या करेगी? कलेक्टर बनेगी?”

Even today, we hear questions like these when it comes to girls’ education.

But perhaps education does not only shape what a girl becomes. It can change what she believes is possible for her.

Bunty’s journey is one such story.

She left school after Class 8. The secondary school was far from her village, and believing that she was no longer eligible to continue her education, she let go of her dream of becoming a police officer.

Years later, Bunty gave herself a second chance through Educate Girls’ Pragati program. She returned to learning, completed Grade 10, rebuilt her confidence and began dreaming about her future again.

Safeena Husain recently shared Bunty’s journey and spoke about the meaning of second-chance education on ‘Srishti’, Akashvani Vividh Bharati Bhopal.

AI integration can feel like a race. But responsible adoption is about more than moving fast.

The social sector has an opportunity to approach AI differently, grounded in ethics, trust, and a deep understanding of the communities it serves.

For philanthropists and funders, that means funding AI boldly, while giving organisations the time, resources, and trust to test, learn, build safeguards, and keep human judgement at the centre.

Strengthening our commitment to open schooling in Assam! ✨

Our partnership with the Government of Assam and Samagra Shiksha Assam continues to grow, building on our ongoing work to strengthen open schooling and second-chance education for those who cannot return to school across the state.

Through our Technical Assistance Unit, Educate Girls is supporting the identification, mobilisation, enrolment and retention of out-of-school adolescents aged 15–18, with a focus on girls, through the Assam State Open School (ASOS) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). We’re also working to strengthen post-certification pathways, helping learners move forward with confidence.

The Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of Assam, Dr Ranoj Pegu, has highlighted the growing need to expand opportunities through open schooling, bringing us closer to a fully functional Assam State Open School.

Together, we’re strengthening pathways to a second chance at education so being out of school doesn’t mean being out of options.

The bigger the ambition, the harder the question: how do you grow without losing sight of who you’re growing for?

At Samvad: Webinar Series by Foundation, our CEO, .nairlobo_official, joined Jayant Rastogi, Global CEO, .bus India Foundation, for a conversation on Leading through Change: People, Purpose and Performance.

Drawing from her leadership journey, Gayatri spoke about what it takes to navigate growth and uncertainty while keeping communities at the centre, from developing leaders within the organisation to making difficult strategic choices, to using technology in ways that strengthen rather than distance frontline teams. She shared what it takes to evolve without losing sight of the communities we serve.

For Educate Girls, that means ensuring that even as we work towards reaching 10 million learners, every girl remains more than a number. Seen, heard, and supported with the same care as the first.

Meaningful growth is not just about how far you go. It is about what you carry with you along the way.

No single organisation has all the answers.

At the AVPN Global Conference 2026, our team spent three days alongside changemakers, funders, practitioners and partners, all asking versions of the same question: what does it actually take to make change last?

The answers weren't found in any one session. They emerged in the conversations that continued beyond them, in the hallways, over chai, and through the exchange of ideas and perspectives that no agenda can fully plan for.

From systems change and trust-based philanthropy to community leadership and scaling what works, one thing came through clearly: lasting progress is built together. As an organisation working alongside communities and government systems to bring every girl into school and keep her learning, that's something we have always believed and continue to learn through every partnership we build.

We asked members of the Educate Girls team to reflect on what stayed with them most from AVPN. These are the conversations, ideas and moments they will carry forward into their work, and the partnerships they continue to build.

Thank you to everyone who made the conference a space for open conversations, thoughtful exchange and meaningful connections. We leave with fresh perspectives, new relationships and plenty to build on.

Through its partnership with Oracle, Educate Girls is supporting the Vidya program in Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, to help girls enrol in, stay in and return to education.

The program is reaching 14,000+ girls across 417 villages, bringing this work to communities where financial pressures, household responsibilities and social expectations can often stand in the way of girls’ education.

In Lakhimpur Kheri, Ranjana, a Team Balika volunteer, is helping families see what becomes possible when girls get the chance to learn. Education was always a priority for Ranjana’s family. Inspired by her brother, a teacher, she too
began pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher. But through her work with families, she saw that many girls did not have the same opportunities.
Today, alongside her own studies, she works with families to help girls access education and stay on their learning journey.

Ranjana’s story is just one glimpse of the change this partnership is helping bring to girls and families across these communities.

After nearly a decade away from education, she had finally found her way back. For months, she had studied alongside caring for her three children and managing her household, with her husband's encouragement.

Then, he was gone.
