Annual Geeta Chanting Competition 2026
Chinmaya Sagar Zone
The journey towards this year’s Geeta Chanting Competition began 6 months ago, with dedicated sevikas reaching out to various schools and conducting online and offline classes through Bal Vihar, Devi groups and other forums. With enthusiasm and perseverance, Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita, this year’s prescribed syllabus, was taught across the zone. In all, 1,150 registrations were received.
Following a thorough filtering process, 330 participants made it to the Finals, conducted over three days.
With Pujya Gurudev’s grace and the continued support, guidance and mentorship of our beloved Pujya Swami Swatmanandaji, Group A children were judged offline on 2nd September 2026, while Groups F and G were judged online on the same day. On 3rd September, the 30–70 years adult category was judged at Chinmaya Sagar, Panchsheel, Churchgate.
The Finals for Groups B, C, D and E were held at Blossoms High School, Marine Lines, on 6th September 2026.
While the children were being evaluated, the parents participated in an interactive session on Mindful Parenting conducted by Ms. Dipali Ved. The talk generated great interest and enthusiastic discussion.
Pujya Swami Swatmanandaji then addressed the gathering on the five verses of the Geeta Panchamrit, speaking about Chinmaya Mission’s endeavour to bring the essence of the Bhagavad Gita into every home. He urged everyone to memorise the verses and understand their meaning, so that they may uplift themselves by themselves. The parents and children responded with keen interest.
We are eternally grateful to our expert panel of judges for taking the time to carefully assess all the children and adults and for their prompt and meticulous marking.
Post Swamiji’s session, the results were announced and the prize distribution ceremony followed. We were privileged to have Smt. Vinitaji Asrani, Past President along with Shruti Somani, (President Chinmaya Sagar) and other senior Sevikas with us, to give away prizes. The winners of the first and second prizes were also invited to participate in the Area Finals, to be held next month.
Swamiji also felicitated Mr. Merchant, Trustee of HPT Blossoms School, in appreciation of their continued support in our GGC endeavour.
After months of dedicated seva, planning and teamwork, the 2026 Geeta Chanting Competition concluded successfully. The event was meticulously planned and coordinated by Smt. Sujata Murali, who led by example and together with the entire team, ensured that every stage of the competition came together smoothly.
The enthusiasm of the children, the participation of the parents and the collective spirit of the entire team made this year’s competition truly special. The programme came together seamlessly, beautifully and peacefully, bringing this wonderful journey to a most fulfilling close.
Om Shri Gurubhyo Namaha.
