We recently facilitated our first parent session at two schools in Malwani.

The session included a lot of interaction with parents knowing about their stresses and exploring ways in which they can cope through different grounding techniques and mindfulness. We also discussed how 3Cs - Care, Consistency and Communication are the three foundational pillars of building and strengthening a strong relationship with children.

Our theme for this academic year is Gender Based Violence and we started with the focus area of gender in which we discuss difference between s*x & gender, gender roles, expectations & stereotypes and social construction around gender.

The children’s artwork reflect how they fully understand these concepts at such a young age of what society expects from us in terms of how we dress up, what kind of work we do, how we behave, etc. and puts us in boxes.

It’s testimony of how resilient and passionate our team is about what they do- when you see them day after day, month after month navigating their way around schools during the months of monsoon in Mumbai and never complaining or giving up. We are so proud to have a team like this!
