Enactus
Enactus is a community of students, academic and business leaders. We believe that a dedicated entrepreneurial action can transform and shape lives in a sustainable manner. An international non-profit organization, changing the society and the world around us by keeping in close contact with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Enactus believes in teaching skills to the socially backwa
rd classes, which create entrepreneurs out of them. Along with giving a new life to sectors of the society who face social stigmas at unimaginable levels, Enactus creates value-driven social business leaders of tomorrow. Enactus MPSTME
Enactus MPSTME, currently in its 5th academic year, revolves around what people in general see today and choose to ignore. Our first project was an attempt at starting an e-commerce portal for NGO handicrafts. It was built in a record time of 4 months. From this project, we founded two other projects- Patched and Parivartan, which we have successfully exited this year. We are currently working on two new projects- Zeen and Vishuddh which together cover 6 Sustainable Development Goals alone. Zeen
Zeen is an environmentally conscious project built on the ideology to bridge the gap between urban community and the grassroot of their economy –The farmers. By providing them with a sustainable additional business model Zeen decreases their financial dependency on farming. To reinstate the faith of the farmers on the society, Zeen will help them gain knowledge and access to technology they didn’t even know existed in addition to the various government policies for their aid. Vishuddh
Vishuddh is a project that aims at providing mechanical, portable washing machines to slum dwellers and helping them form a business out of making these machines and selling them to other communities. The machines use easy to obtain raw materials and require minimal technical knowledge for operation and construction. Urban slum dwellers form our targeted community. The main aim of Vishuddh is to educate the community about the use of washing machines and then move towards the concept of community washing centres. Patched
Patched is an environmentally conscious social enterprise striving to make a difference in the lives of trafficked women and s*x workers through our model of education, entrepreneurship and empowerment. In its 4 years, it created 5 entrepreneurs, educated 70 women in tailoring and impacted 1600 individuals through our various campaigns and events. The education ideology is to equip our women with basic training in Communication Skills, Tailoring, Beauty classes and mehendi classes. In its lifetime it has worked with 5 comminuties from Sonapur and Govandi in its first 3 years along with Rescue in Kandivali, Oasis in Grant Road and Kshamta in Thane in its final year. Patched has increased the income of the trafficked women by a staggering 150%. Parivartan
Parivartan is a green enterprise focusing on providing a supplementary income and healthcare to trash pickers and urban slum dwellers in the economically weaker sections of the society through eco-friendly crafted products like mosquito repellent incense sticks, sawdust pencils, sawdust pens, bowties and bows in variants of rubber bands, hair bands and clips. The main objectives of Parivartan are to train the beneficiaries in essential real world skills, to encourage the children of the beneficiaries to stay in school and continue their education and to reduce the carbon footprint and conservation of the biosphere.
