From a village in Banaskantha to the world of AI — in just 15 days.
Ratnanidhi Charitable Trust (Mumbai) just wrapped up a 15-Day Microsoft AI Skills Programme at our Jagana Medical & Education Centre in rural Gujarat — supported by Microsoft India. 🙏
The classroom looked like this:
👵🏽 A 62-year-old retired banker, learning Copilot for the first time
👧🏽 A 12-year-old Std. 7 student from Pipli village
👩🏽‍⚖️ A 34-year-old advocate from Palanpur
💪 Four learners with disabilities — sitting at the same desks, taking the same exam
58 learners. 11 villages. Ages 12 to 62. 21 women and girls.
They learnt Microsoft Copilot, AI prompting, image generation, deep research, AI in Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and AI & robotics — all taught in Gujarati and Hindi, completely free.
Our Jagana Centre runs on solar power, has a 100+ computer lab, a 30,000-book library, and has been serving persons with disabilities through our free prosthetics work for 10 years and counting. 🦿📚☀️

Tucked inside a chawl in Mangaldas Market, where lanes smell of turmeric and damp stone, lives a boy with a dream of machines. Aarush Rajendra Bhuvad is thirteen, in Class 8 at SL and SS High School — the kind of boy who studies a broken bicycle and quietly works out how its gears might be fixed. He dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer. But that dream has lived in the shadow of hunger. His mother, Shruti, earns five thousand rupees monthly as a domestic helper. His grandmother cleans homes for ten thousand more.
Every rupee stretches across rent, school fees, and staying alive. Some mornings, Aarush left for school on only chai, willing himself to focus through the fog that hunger brings.
Everything changed when Aarush joined the Food for Education Programme run by Ratnanidhi Charitable Trust. Each day, the Ratnanidhi kitchen sends freshly cooked, home-style meals to his school — warm dal-rice made with a mother's love. The first time he lifted that steel plate and breathed in the aroma of hot, spiced dal over rice, something in his face shifted. He ate slowly, as if his body was quietly remembering what being nourished felt like. That first full meal felt like a miracle.
The transformation was swift and visible. Aarush gained weight, his energy returning.

The hollowness behind his eyes gave way to genuine alertness. Attendance improved dramatically — day after day, on time, engaged, present. His teachers noticed a boy who now raised his hand, stayed focused through afternoon lessons, and carried himself with quiet new confidence. His mother felt a relief she could barely name — her son was properly fed and at school every day. A worry the family had carried for years was finally, gently lifted.

Maths, his favourite subject, now holds his complete attention. He speaks of becoming an engineer with conviction, as if the future he once only whispered is something he can truly reach. For Mr. Vishnu Shinde, life changed in a single, devastating moment.
In 2006, while working in a factory, his leg got trapped in a machine. In seconds, everything he had built—his career, his confidence, his independence—collapsed. A man with an MA and B.Ed., full of potential, suddenly found himself unable to walk, unable to work, and unable to provide for his family of four.
Days turned into years of quiet struggle.
