The women's day celebration at the trust this year was one big fanfare.
7.3.25: bags made at our rehab centre were distributed at the female ward of Tata Memorial Hospital by our volunteers.
8.3.25: The hall was packed with 60 breast cancer victors who were invited for a fully loaded women's day event.
The event commenced with a prayer by Lalmani Singh, breast cancer victor.
Ms Sunanda Mhetre,breast cancer victor and part of our rehab unit shared her experience of being sans cancer for the last 22 years!
Dr.Subita Patil, from Preventive Oncology spoke about the signs & symptoms of cancer and the importance of screening.
Dr Geethanjali Amin added her inputs and spoke at length about the HPV vaccine.
Ms.Preeti Nair, corporate lawyer, spoke about the rights of women,on divorce settlement, will and later answered all the questions patiently.
Lunch from our own Ann-Vasantham kitchen had poori,aloo sabzi, pulav,chole,raita and gulab jamuns that were enjoyed by all.
Dr.Sailaja Desai, Kuchipudi Danseuse, illustrated with her deft hand movements the mudras, the navarasas and the crowd was elated as she taught and they too gladly performed. It was such a happy sight!
Mrs.S.Radha, 89 years young breast cancer victor could not make it but her son, our volunteer Shankar shared her experience to the crowd who gave a huge round of applause.
PSI Ms Smitha Bhise and her team from Vikhroli Police station spoke on cyber crime, safety measures and the Nirbhaya cell set up at every police station for the safety of women. They spoke briefly as they had a very busy schedule..leaving the audience asking for more...they promised to do another exclusive session for them.
Beautiful bags made at our rehab centre were given to all by our volunteers as they bade good byes.
