Vishva Jyotish Sansthan Charitable Trust conducted Astrology & Vastu Shastra study classes – Mulund Center – Mumbai.
On Monday, 25 May 2026, lecturer Shri Tarunbhai J. Dave provided detailed information on the topic "Balarishta Yoga" based on the "Brihat Jataka Granth". He explained that Bala means child and Arishta means malefic yoga — a review of yogas that harm the lifespan of children. Indian astrologers have divided human lifespan calculations into four main categories: Balarishta Yoga (lifespan from birth up to 14/15 years), Alpayu Yoga (lifespan from 16 to 32 years), Madhyayu (lifespan from 33 to 65 years), and Deerghayu (lifespan 66 years and above).
For natives having Balarishta Yoga, there remains a crisis regarding lifespan, and in the birth chart, along with various defects, the probability of diminished longevity is higher. "Gandanta Dosha" has a strong influence in intensifying Balarishta Yogas. Hence, in Indian time calculations, concerns remain regarding the health of children born during "Sandhikaal" and their mothers. Appropriate consultation was given on remedies / solutions directed in the scriptures.
Therefore, in chart analysis, it is essential to first consider the native's health and longevity well-being.
In the Advanced Astrology Study Class, Shri Ketan Rameshchandra Vagadia discussed the "Ashtakvarga" chart based on principles directed by Maharishi Parashar Rishi and analysis doctrines of Acharya Varahamihira, along with methods of prediction. It was explained in the study that currently only 10% of the original versions of the Ashtakvarga system literature are available, on the basis of which astrologers attempt to make accurate predictions. In Indian astrology texts, almost all Acharyas have praised the greatness of Ashtakvarga. In South India, most of the literature is available in local languages, and many scholars are carrying out work of scriptural discourse and review through research-oriented thought, analysis, and research papers. This is a unique system that assists in accurate directional guidance in prediction. Major life events from birth to death were explained through Ashtakvarga using example charts.
