🎬📚 Movie Screening at Aashiyana Library | Guthlee Ladoo
At Aashiyana Library, children participated in a special screening of the Hindi film “Guthlee Ladoo”, a thought-provoking story about a young boy’s dream to go to school despite poverty and caste-based discrimination.
The story of Guthlee, the son of a sanitation worker, reminds us that a child’s circumstances should never decide their right to education. While Guthlee is determined to learn, social barriers prevent him from entering the classroom. His journey—and the tragic fate of his friend Ladoo—encourages us to think deeply about equality, dignity, child rights and access to education.
🇮🇳 Education is not a privilege—it is a constitutional right.
The Constitution of India, through Article 21A, guarantees the Right to Education for every child between 6 and 14 years of age. The 86th Constitutional Amendment (2002) made education a Fundamental Right, and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act) provides the legal framework for this right.
