It is such a proud moment to know that the farm as crossed it's 5yr mark from the day of inception. The kiddos have grown, new births have been witnessed, both plant and humans alike and in harmony.
This time around our periodic visits, the took over with so much frenzy, the responsibility of tour guides and filled us up with farm updates and reports that would put any excel sheet in a shy corner. 5yrs ago when we started out this joy and energy was exactly what we hope and dreamed of.
1 Key Observation: As the soil nutrients keep getting reinstated over the years, the land heals. What is the proof? Well, on a deprived land weeds grow fast and in numbers. Though they remain very tiny in individual plant size. But now that the nutrients cycle has been spinned , the weeds have reduced in number but plant size is massive. Now imagine how it Reduces the farmers task of weeding and yet makes all that goodness bio-available after at the start of new sowing cycle. One might wonder, how to make this Observation on farm where chop and drop happens in quick succession. Well always observe the girth of the main stem at the base, if it is thicker than what normally weeds tend to grow in you neighbouring lands.....then you have achieved it!
