History of the Organization

Late Sunil Dutt founded Nargis Dutt Foundation in 1981 after Nargis Dutt succumbed to Pancreatic Cancer. During her intense treatment at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, Nargis Dutt realized that she was one of the privileged few Indians to be able to receive the treatment, and subsequently, expressed deep sorrow for those who suffered from cancer, yet had little or

no facilities to be treated in India. She hoped that, in future,someday, she could help her fellow-countrymen who were unable to receive the required treatment. Her anguish and feelings became part of Sunil Dutt’s mission in life, and he turned her dream into a reality. Though created with the prime objective of funding and helping patients with timely medical treatment, Nargis Dutt Foundation has diversified, over the years, in various fields like Health Care, Education and Rural Development. Today both DuttSahab and Nargisji live through the works of this esteemed Foundation.

What an unforgettable evening filled with music, warmth, generosity, and a shared commitment towards making a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for *Swayam Live for the Nargis Dutt Foundation.* Your presence, support, and belief in this cause made the evening truly special. Because of you, lives will be touched and futures will be changed. 💛

A special thank you to musical artiste Swayam Padhi along with the local band for bringing incredible energy to the evening and standing with this cause.

A deeply felt thank you to Reena Rao for her tireless efforts in reigniting the SF/SV committee. Thank you to Mahesh Pakala, Anchal Dhawan, and the entire committee whose dedication helped bring this evening to life.

We were also honored by the presence of community leaders and supporters whose presence made the evening even more meaningful.

The Nargis Dutt Foundation was built to empower lives and uplift communities, and this evening was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose.

This is just the beginning. Together, we’ll continue reaching further and creating meaningful impact. 💛✨

Through this initiative, Iron Mountain in association with Nargis Dutt Foundation donated a 4-Chamber Mortuary Facility to Ganga Prem Hospice, Rishikesh, supporting compassionate care for terminally ill cancer patients and their families. 💛
