13 years of Madras Cafe.

No gadgets. No glossy action. No item songs. Just a quiet, tense spy story that trusted its audience with silence n stakes instead of spectacle. John Abraham reportedly cut down his frame to play a real field officer, not a hero. Shoojit Sircar called it "fiction created from facts" n it still feels rare for how restrained it is.

Swipe through for the mission, the crew n how it was actually made.

That dining table scene in Piku is pure filmmaking magic. Shoojit Sircar doesn't shout his direction at you, he just lets the camera sit quietly n watch real people be real people. Irrfan's character casually announcing that America's biggest problem is constipation, said with a straight face over dinner, sums up everything special about this film. Juhi Chaturvedi's writing deserves so much love here. She takes the most awkward, hidden, "we don't discuss this" topics like bowel movements, ageing parents, mortality n turns them into dinner table normalcy. No drama, no forced comedy, just honesty.

And Irrfan, god, the man doesn't act, he just exists on screen. Every pause, every glance, every half smile feels lived in, not performed.
Piku isn't a film, it's a warm, messy, honest family conversation.

Not gonna lie, Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi is the kind of movie that shows up on TV on a random Sunday afternoon and suddenly your whole day is cancelled. You know every twist, every dialogue, every "Ek din main raja banunga" moment n yet you still sit through the whole thing like it's the first time. That's the real magic of these old masala films pure chaos, zero logic, maximum entertainment. Seth ji trying to buy love with money, mamas scheming in every corner, a goat that apparently predicts the future n a climax fight that solves everything in five minutes flat. It's dramatic....it's silly, it's oddly comforting. Some things don't need to make sense to be enjoyable.

When Malik and Chandu meet for the first time in RGV's Company, you can literally feel the tension in the air. No shouting, no drama, just two sharp minds sizing each other up, and that's exactly why RGV is a genius at this. The dark lighting, the intense background score, and those quick reaction shots say more than any dialogue could. This one scene basically sets up the entire power game of the movie.

Chandni Chowk to China is one of those films people love to hate, but honestly? I like it n I enjoy watching it every single time. 🥢

It was Bollywood's first real try at kung-fu comedy....a sabzi cutter from Chandni Chowk who turns into a warrior in China. Loud, weird n full of masti. The style mixes Old Delhi chaos with Chinese pop colours, and somehow it works.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy gave it a soundtrack that still slaps years later. The film shot in real locations -Chandni Chowk in Delhi n the Great Wall in China which added so much charm. Most importantly, it was Bollywood's boldest experiment of its time. Nobody had tried this mix before. It didn't do great with critics, but it built a cult following that only grew with time.

Rewatch it this weekend. You'll enjoy it more than you think.

A masterclass in restrained fury.

Bajirao enters glowing, at peace, sharing his sons' names..... the frame warm, amber-lit, almost celebratory. Then one cruel jibe about Mastani cracks it all. The editing tightens, cuts get shorter, shots move closer to the characters' faces..as Bhansali's palette drains into less saturated tones. Ranveer's expression shifts from disbelief to controlled rage, no shouting, just his eyes doing the damage. The knife flies, missing his brother, burying itself in the wall as a warning. Then, low n constant "कभी कभी ये रिश्ते ही दम घोट देते है."

Pure silence, pure weight.

Dimagi Nakal started as pure obsession - Hindi cinema, graphic design, and zero chill. What began on Yeh Hai Hindi Cinema turned into designs made from the heart.

And then it happened. Anurag Kashyap himself, wearing Dimagi Nakal. No filters, no ask - just love for the design. The internet noticed. The news noticed. Now it's your turn.

This isn't just a trend. It's a feeling you wear.

DM YHHCDESIGN to grab yours before it's gone.

Some cameos steal the scene. This one stole the entire soundtrack. 🎸

One song. One legend. One completely iconic look - white flowing hair, a patchwork coat, boots for days, and a guitar he made look effortless. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom wasn't just an opening track it was Amitabh Bachchan turning a cameo into a whole era. Composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, sung by Shankar Mahadevan, written by Gulzar.... shot across the platforms of London, this is the song that proved style has no expiry date.

"Preity Zinta called him a god on set. We're not arguing."
