Supplier Diversity is not new to India, we have practised it in bits and pieces starting with the state government of in the late 90s when they opened the doors of public procurement from historically marginalised vendors. The ministry of .india gave a great impetus by adding the historically marginalised communities in its fold, thereby empowering them economically. Corporate India has been lagging behind in but with the post pandemic changes in supply chain landscape, they have realised that it is key to source from marginalised vendors in order to have a resilient supply chain.
