Do you recognize the man in the circle?

Today, we celebrate that legendary figure who merged sports and social change.

Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, was also a passionate football enthusiast.

During his time in South Africa from 1893 to 1915, Gandhi founded the Passive Resisters Football Club to promote non-violent resistance against racial injustice. This pioneering move used sports to unite people and fight discrimination.

****Gandhi's Football Legacy:***

⚽️ Founded 3️⃣ football clubs in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Durban to spread his message of peaceful resistance.
⚽️ Used football stadiums as venues for political rallies, inspiring players and spectators alike.
⚽️ Supported Indian football leagues, fostering community and teamwork among Indians in South Africa.

Let's draw inspiration from Gandhi's vision of sports as a tool for social change. 🦁❤⚽️

Brazilian Marta Vieira da Silva - Marta is the greatest female footballer of all time.

During the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, she became the first player, male or female, to score at 5️⃣ FIFA World Cup tournaments when she scored a penalty against Australia.

In 2021, she scored twice in a 5–0 win against China, to become the first player to score in 5️⃣ straight Olympics.

She has been named FIFA World Player of the Year 6️⃣ times, five of them being consecutive (from 2006 through 2010) and the latest award coming in 2018.

So Ronaldo is not the first footballer to score in 5 World Cups. He is the first male to do so.
